Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India in Mumbai is seeking an UGSC Designer to prepare designs and drawings per codes and client needs, coordinating with junior drafters and mentoring their growth. You will help ensure timely, quality deliverables on complex projects for diverse clients.

The role requires strong communication, ability to manage multiple projects, and flexibility to work across teams, with occasional travel. Proficiency in Civil-3D or MicroStation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Civil with 3-4 years of experience OR ITI in Electrical/Civil with 6-8 years of experience.
• Underground experience a plus; Transmission or distribution experience preferred.
• Proven verbal and written communication and IT (office packages) skills
• Track record in finding solutions to complex problems within deadlines.
• Experience leading a team of engineers and designers.
• Managing multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables in parallel.
• Communicating with multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Priority management and schedule planning.
• Knowledge of underground powerlines construction methods a plus.
• Knowledge regarding easements, right-of-way, and permitting considerations and impacts.
• Knowledge of creating plan & profile drawings using Civil-3D or MicroStation.
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize work.
• Knowledge of utility telecommunications, distributed energy resource integration, and advanced distribution technologies a plus.
• Strong analytical capability.
• Flexibility to work in different roles for different clients both locally and worldwide.
• Traveling will be a considerable advantage.
• Capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
