Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Limited is seeking an Engineer for Turbine Assembly at the Hazira Mfg Complex. The role requires hands-on experience with HP, IP, and LP turbine assembly, rotors and casings, and attention to dimensional accuracy.

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required. Proficiency in Autocad/CAD and strong understanding of assembly drawings will be valuable for ensuring high-quality assembly and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• In-depth knowledge of turbine assembly and related processes is essential.
• Experience interpreting assembly drawings and tolerances is preferred.

Responsibilities

• In-depth knowledge of turbine assembly processes (HP, IP, LP turbines, rotors, casings, diaphragms).
• Proficiency in interpretation of assembly drawings, tolerances, and engineering specifications.
• Familiarity with precision measurement tools (dial gauges, micrometers, laser alignment, torque tools).
• Understanding of critical fits, shrink fits, mandrel handling, and interference fits in turbine assembly.
• Knowledge of hydraulic tightening, torqueing, and bolt tensioning procedures.
• Awareness of special processes in assembly (heating, cooling, oil flushing, rotor balancing).
• Familiarity with shop safety practices for heavy components and crane operations.
• Knowledge of welding, NDT, and quality standards relevant to turbine assembly.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting assembly issues and resolving dimensional deviations.
