Job summary

Tata Projects is seeking a skilled TBM construction professional to oversee shaft construction, TBM launch preparation, and related underground works in challenging ground conditions. The role requires technical leadership and disciplined execution on site.

Responsibilities include coordinating Secant pile and capping beam works, method statements, and TBM installation, with emphasis on safety and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• TBM selection including SEGMENT INSERT and GASKET considerations.
• Planning for initial and main drive with schematic drawing.
• Good communication skills and leadership abilities.
• Deep knowledge of TBM operations.
• Experience in underground construction in hard rock and soft ground.

Responsibilities

• Look after construction of Secant pile, Capping beam, flood protection wall for shaft construction.
• Select shaft sizing and sequence for TBM launch.
• Prepare method statements for rectangular shaft construction sequence.
• Execute launching shaft excavations (30m) in varied ground.
• Monitor erection cycle of strut-waler beam with brackets and packing concrete.
• Install and assemble TBM on ground and shift into tunnel.
• Erect and lay rail lines and sleepers in tunnel to enable TBM movement.
• Safely offload TBM parts.
• Lower and assemble TBM components (eye seal, thrust frame, TBM backup gantries).

Role & responsibilities

• Looking after construction of Secant pile (Hard and Soft pile), Capping beam, Flood protection wall for construction of shaft.
• Selection of Shaft sizing and sequence (Bottom-UP) for TBM launch.
• Preparing Method statement regarding rectangular shaft construction sequence.
• Execution of Launching shaft (30M) excavation for both soft and hard ground.
• Monitoring erection cycle of Strut-waler beam with its bracket for supporting shaft including packing concrete.
• Installation and assembling of Tunnel Boring Machine on ground and then shifting it in tunnel.
• Erection and laying of all rail lines, sleepers in tunnel to facilitate the moving of TBM.
• Safe offloading of TBM parts.
• Lowering and assembling of TBM's ( Eye seal, Thrust Frame & TBM Backup gantries)

Skills-
