You will supervise planning, deployment, and on-site performance while coordinating with the GC team and client. The role requires extensive TBM and tunnel experience on highway/metro/railway schemes, with a strong emphasis on design review, contract compliance, and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Total 20 years of professional experience.
• At least 15 years as TBM Expert on highway/metro/railway projects.
• At least 10 years of experience in similar capacity.
• Experience on at least 2 highway/metro/railway projects with tunnel length ≥2.5 km each.

Responsibilities

• Report to Project Director and coordinate with GC team.
• Review FS and tunnel design for detailed engineering and codes.
• Confirm design conditions with authorities and utility cross sections.
• Guide CAD operator on drawings and review CAD output.
• Review contractor method statements and provide comments or objections.
• Check site works quality, inspection sheets, and issue instructions.
• Verify interim payment claims to support QS.
• Assist in analyzing cost/time claims with the Claims team.
• Support Taking Over and Completion certificates for tunnel works.
• Attend meetings with authorities, client, and contractor as needed.
• Prepare reports for the client and maintain permanent site records.
• Verify as-built drawings submitted by the contractor.

The TBM Expert will act as the lead specialist within the GC team to oversee planning, deployment, and execution of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations for a twin road tunnel project. The role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality tunneling in complex urban geology typical of Mumbai

Responsibilities

• Report to Project Director.
• Review the FS and Tunnel design for detailed engineering, including the geotechnical data, the applied design codes, design conditions including control points (e.g. Navigation channel, pipelines etc.), type of the foundation/substructure/ superstructure
• Confirm with MMRDA all design conditions including design code, control points such as position of public utilities, and cross sections.
• Provide guidance to the CAD operator for preparation of the drawings and check the drawing prepared by the CAD operator.
• Review the method statement of project construction submitted by the contractor and provide comments or give no objection.
• Review and check the quality of the works at site as well as inspection sheets prepared by the inspector and provide necessary instruction if any.
• Check the interim payment claim from the contractor to support the Quantity Surveyor.
• Support the Claim specialist to analyze the claims for cost increase or time extension from the contractor.
• Support the Project Director to issue the Taking over certificate and completion certificate in terms of Tunnel.
• Participate the meeting with relevant authorities/the client/contractor when required.
• Provide a part of the reports to be submitted to the Client in terms of the Project works.
• Ensure full and detailed permanent site records, which will include site correspondence, survey data, quality acceptance data, site diaries, measurement and certification, minutes of meetings, and records of all other contractually relevant matters.
• Check the as-build drawings submitted by the contractor

Qualifications

• Post Graduate in Civil Engineering
• Total 20 years of professional experience
• Should have worked as a TBM Expert for Highway road/ Metro/ Railway projects for at least 15 years
• Minimum 10 years of experience in similar capacity
• Should have experience of at least 2 Highway road/ Metro/ Railway Projects with tunnel length not less than 2.5 km in each project.
