Job description

About Us

TrueLeap Inc. is dedicated to “Build the Infrastructure for the Knowledge Economy.” (trueleapinc.com ) We power inclusive digital learning, human‑capital development, and last‑mile knowledge access through integrated technology and services. (trueleapinc.com ) Our global platform offers solutions such as SaaS, PaaS, AI‑enabled edge devices, and learning systems that serve remote or underserved areas. (trueleapinc.com ) At TrueLeap, we think big — we believe that knowledge, digital access, and infrastructure are the foundation of a more equitable learning ecosystem.

Role Overview

As the Country Manager – India, you will lead the growth, operations, and strategic presence of TrueLeap in one of the most dynamic education‑technology markets globally. You will act as the senior executive for TrueLeap’s India market: setting strategy, building partnerships, shaping operations, driving revenue, and ensuring that our global mission is executed locally. This role demands high‑impact leadership, deep market insight, strong execution capabilities, and an ability to connect with both public‑sector and private‑sector stakeholders across the education, workforce, and digital‑access domains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Market Strategy

Develop and implement TrueLeap’s India market strategy, fully aligned with the company’s global vision of building the knowledge‑economy infrastructure.

  • Business Development & Growth

Identify new business models, markets, and segments (education institutions, government initiatives, enterprise learning, rural/underserved regions) to drive growth and scale.

  • Partnerships & Alliances

Build and nurture relationships with government ministries, regulatory bodies, universities, skilling institutions, NGOs, technology partners, and large enterprise customers. Strengthen the TrueLeap ecosystem in India.

  • Product & Solution Deployment Oversight

Ensure the effective deployment and localization of TrueLeap’s product portfolio (e.g., SaaS / PaaS learning platforms, AI‑edge devices, last‑mile kits) in India, adapting to local needs and infrastructure constraints.

  • Revenue & P&L Ownership

Own the India P&L: set targets, monitor business performance metrics, drive profitability, and ensure sustainable business model execution in line with global goals.

  • Team Leadership & Operations

Recruit, build, and lead the India team (business development, partnerships, operations, marketing, delivery). Oversee operational functions and ensure localization of processes, while maintaining global standards.

  • Brand & Thought Leadership

Serve as the public face of TrueLeap in India — represent the company at industry events, conferences, forums; promote the “knowledge‑economy infrastructure” message; strengthen brand presence across public and private sectors.

  • Governance, Compliance & Local Ecosystem

Navigate regulatory, compliance, and market‑entry issues in India; ensure adherence to local laws, data‑privacy/regulation requirements, and align with TrueLeap’s global ethics and practices.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership or country‑manager/GM role within EdTech, SaaS, technology‑driven education, or workforce‑skilling industry.
  • Demonstrated success in business expansion and growth (particularly in India or emerging markets), with a track record of launching or scaling operations, building sustainable partnerships, achieving revenues, and managing P&L.
  • Deep understanding of the Indian education ecosystem (K-12, higher‑ed, skilling, government schemes), digital learning trends, technology adoption in underserved areas, and last‑mile access challenges.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills — able to interface with senior government officials, large enterprises, institutional leaders, and ecosystem partners.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high‑performing teams, manage remote operations, and deliver business outcomes in a dynamic market environment.
  • Familiar with modern SaaS/PaaS/business technology platforms, analytics frameworks, and remote collaboration tools.
  • Willingness to travel across India (and occasionally internationally) as needed to build and oversee operations, partnerships and delivery.
Commitment & Compensation

This is a senior executive contract role; compensation will be structured to reflect the scope of leadership, market impact, and performance metrics. The package will be competitive in the market and aligned with TrueLeap’s global executive compensation philosophy.
