ARUP is seeking an experienced Transport Planner with 8+ years in the railway sector to support planning, analysis, and development of rail systems in Bengaluru. You will forecast demand, contribute to network and timetable analyses, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and Master's degree in Transport Planning, Railway Engineering, Urban Planning, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in transport planning, preferably within railway, metro, light rail, or mass transit projects (Rail/Metro), with at least 3 years relevant Rail/Metro experience.
  • Strong understanding of railway operations, capacity planning, demand forecasting, and service planning.
  • Experience working on feasibility studies, master plans, operational plans, or detailed project reports for rail projects.
  • Proficiency in transport modelling/planning tools such as Emme, VISUM, VISSIM, RailSys, OpenTrack, Cube, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, report writing, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.

  • Prepare technical reports, planning documents, presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Support feasibility studies, business cases, and transport strategy development for rail projects.
  • Ensure planning outputs comply with applicable railway standards, safety requirements, and project objectives.
