Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Mumbai invites a Transmission Line Engineer – MBI to perform planning, modelling and design using PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and PLS-Tower, including foundation design and load analysis.

The role requires 2–6 years of power transmission experience, strong English communication, and ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating with global clients; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in electrical/civil engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of Power Transmission experience.
• Proficient in English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Computer software knowledge in MS-office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Analysis software/tools, Google Earth, PLS-Tower, PLS-CAD.

Responsibilities

• Perform Transmission line planning, modelling, analysis and design in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and PLS-Tower, foundation designs etc.
• Structural analysis and design of lattice tower and line poles (Steel, LD, Wood) and loading framing trees, plan & profile drawings, authority permit drawings, wire sag and tension analysis, developing design criteria, and create bill of materials, engineering estimate, and quality control reviews.
• Monitor and provide regular updates to section manager about progress and activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Provide technical and engineering expertise along the guide to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and effectively monitor all work activities.
• Support project team to develop significant engineering solutions
• Participate in regular meeting and corresponding with Clients.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed within the continental U.S. to support assignments on projects and overall office needs.
• Willing to advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities by closely working with discipline lead engineer
• Provide team level accountability for the implementation and tracking of design quality control processes and procedures utilizing all applicable QC forms and checklists.
• A committed team player able to work on own initiative
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, client service orientation
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to communicate effectively with internal team members and external clients.
• Identify development needs of team and mentor, coach and develop team members (engineers, designers, drafters)
