Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Training & Placement Officer to lead and strengthen the Training & Placement function of the Institution. The incumbent will be responsible for developing strong industry relationships, establishing a robust recruiter network, facilitating internships and placements, enhancing student employability, and creating career opportunities across various academic programs.
The candidate should have substantial experience in Training & Placement, Campus Recruitment, Corporate Relations, Career Services or Industry-Academia Relations, preferably in a reputed University, Medical College, Healthcare Institution, Higher Education Institution or large educational organization.
Role & responsibilities
1. Strategic Training & Placement Management
- Develop and implement the Institution's annual Training & Placement strategy and action plan.
- Establish measurable placement targets and monitor achievement against defined KPIs.
- Develop structured systems and SOPs for training, internships, campus recruitment and placements.
- Prepare annual Training & Placement calendars covering training programs, internships, recruitment drives, career fairs and industry interactions.
- Strengthen the overall employability and career development framework for students.
2. Corporate & Industry Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, healthcare organizations, pharmaceutical companies, diagnostic centres, healthcare chains, corporates, MNCs, research organizations and other prospective employers.
- Build a strong and continuously expanding database of recruiters.
- Identify new organizations and sectors for campus recruitment.
- Invite senior industry professionals for campus visits, guest lectures, career talks, workshops and mentoring programs.
- Develop long-term institutional relationships and explore opportunities for MoUs, internships, placements, industry projects and collaborative programs.
- Represent the Institution at industry and professional forums.
3. Campus Recruitment & Placement
- Lead the complete campus recruitment process from employer identification to student joining.
- Coordinate recruitment drives, campus interviews, virtual recruitment, job fairs and pooled campus placements.
- Negotiate and coordinate with recruiters regarding job profiles, eligibility criteria, compensation and recruitment schedules.
- Ensure participation of reputed organizations across relevant disciplines.
- Monitor student selection, offer letters, joining and retention status.
- Develop strategies to improve the quality and quantity of placements.
4. Student Career Development
- Design and implement structured pre-placement training programs.
- Coordinate training on:

- Facilitate career opportunities aligned with students' qualifications and career aspirations.
5. Internship & Industry Exposure
- Develop and manage internship opportunities with reputed organizations.
- Establish institutional linkages for clinical, corporate, industrial, research and professional internships, as applicable to different programs.
- Coordinate internship allocation, schedules, documentation and feedback.
- Facilitate industrial visits, industry projects and experiential learning opportunities.
- Maintain an updated database of internship partners.
6. Employer Engagement & Recruitment Network
- Develop a strong network of HR Heads, Talent Acquisition Heads, Recruiters, Hospital Administrators and Corporate Leaders.
- Conduct regular employer outreach and follow-ups.
- Understand changing industry requirements and communicate skill requirements to academic departments.
- Obtain recruiter feedback on student performance and employability.
- Develop strategies to increase repeat participation from existing recruiters.
7. Alumni Engagement
- Develop a structured alumni network for career development and placement support.
- Engage successful alumni for:

- Mentoring
- Career counselling
- Guest lectures
- Industry connections
- Internships
- Maintain an updated database of alumni working in reputed organizations.
8. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and supervise the Training & Placement team.
- Allocate responsibilities and establish performance targets for team members.
- Coordinate with Deans, Principals, Heads of Departments, Faculty Members and Administrative Departments.
- Ensure timely execution of placement and training activities.
- Develop a professional and service-oriented Training & Placement culture.
9. MIS, Documentation & Reporting
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Training & Placement MIS.
- Track:
- Number of recruiters
- Number of students registered
- Students placed
- Placement percentage
- Internship opportunities
- Number of offers
- Salary packages
- Recruiter-wise placement
- Department-wise placement
- Joining status
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for management.
- Maintain documentation required for NAAC, NIRF, university, regulatory and other accreditation/audit requirements, wherever applicable.
- Present placement performance and strategic initiatives to senior management.
10. Career Fairs & Institutional Events
- Organize annual/biannual Job Fairs, Career Fairs, Recruitment Drives and Industry-Academia Meets.
- Coordinate participation of multiple recruiters and students.
- Develop promotional material and communication for placement events.
- Ensure smooth execution of recruitment events from pre-event planning to post-event reporting.
Preferred candidate profile
The ideal candidate should be a senior, mature and well-networked professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience and a proven track record in managing Training & Placement functions.
The candidate should possess excellent corporate connections, strong communication and negotiation skills, leadership capability, strategic thinking and the ability to independently drive the complete Training & Placement function of a large educational institution.
