Aragen Life Sciences Limited invites applications for AI in Chemistry Teaching Associate / Trainee Faculty on an 11-month contract. The role focuses on delivering Aragen Academy's AI in Chemistry curriculum, conducting Python-based hands-on sessions, and mentoring learners through workshops and capstone projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in organic/medicinal chemistry, Python, and basic data science concepts, with exposure to cheminformatics tools and generative AI.

Qualifications

• M.Sc./M.Tech./MS in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Pharmacoinformatics, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, or related Life Sciences discipline.
• Candidates pursuing or recently completing PhD may also be considered.

Role & responsibilities

Position :AI in Chemistry Teaching Associate / Trainee Faculty (11-Month Contract)

Training & Delivery Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering Aragen Academy's AI in Chemistry curriculum.
• Conduct hands-on practical sessions in Python, AI tools and cheminformatics.
• Mentor students during workshops, projects and capstone assignments.
• Support curriculum enhancement and content development.
• Develop demo projects, assignments, notebooks and case studies.
• Track learner progress and provide technical mentoring.
• Collaborate with Aragen scientists to convert industrial use cases into learning modules.

* Candidate will also work on other inhouse projects.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification

• M.Sc./M.Tech./MS in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Pharmacoinformatics, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, or related Life Sciences discipline.
• Candidates pursuing or recently completing PhD may also be considered.

Experience

• 0-2 years of experience.

• Freshers with strong academic projects in AI, cheminformatics, computational chemistry, or drug discovery are encouraged to apply.
• Internship/project experience in AI-driven chemistry applications will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills

Essential

• Strong knowledge of Organic Chemistry and/or Medicinal Chemistry.
• Good Python programming skills.
• Understanding of data science concepts using Pandas, NumPy and visualization libraries.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and Generative AI.
• Familiarity with cheminformatics concepts such as:
  • SMILES
  • Molecular descriptors
  • Chemical databases
  • Molecular similarity analysis

Preferred

• Exposure to RDKit, DeepChem, KNIME, Open Babel or related tools.
• Understanding of molecular docking, virtual screening, ADMET prediction and computer-aided drug design.
• Experience with Generative AI tools, LLMs, prompt engineering and AI assistants.
• Exposure to retrosynthesis, reaction prediction or AI-enabled synthetic chemistry platforms.
• Experience working in Linux environments, cloud computing or HPC platforms.
