Plansee Mysore is inviting applications for a Trainee Design Engineer to support the Product Design and Engineering team in developing, modifying, and improving components and tooling at our Mysore, India site. The role focuses on creating detailed drawings and 3D models and contributing to cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and support reverse engineering activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost-effective design solutions while ensuring manufacturability, quality, and safety standards.
• Perform engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T basics.
• Apply mechanical design fundamentals and basic calculations.
• Understand manufacturing processes, machining basics, and product development lifecycle.

The Trainee Design Engineer will support the Product Design and Engineering team in developing, modifying, and improving products, machine components, tooling, and manufacturing solutions

Your Tasks

• The role involves creating detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, reverse engineering activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions while ensuring manufacturability, quality, and safety standards.
• CAD & Design Software knowledge with any of these skills – AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Solid Edge, CATIA V5, SolidWorks (Basic) , Siemens NX (Basic)
• Engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T basics
• Mechanical design fundamentals with basic design calculations
• Manufacturing processes, machining basics and product development lifecycle understanding

Systems & Software: (Preferred)

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• SAP (Basic Knowledge Preferred)
