Job summary

Embark is seeking a Tax Processing Specialist – Associate to prepare and file US sales and use tax returns for level 1–2 clients. The role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and clear client communication.

You will support senior team members with filings, payments and notices, while maintaining thorough records. A 2–5 year background in tax compliance and strong Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce or business, or relevant experience in the same field.
• 2–5 years of related experience in tax compliance, preferably US sales and use tax.
• Familiarity with standard tax compliance regulations for level 1–2 clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Microsoft tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy under deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare an average of 600+ sales and use tax returns per month for level 1–2 clients.
• Review client tax data for accuracy and raise discrepancies for resolution.
• Build client relationships through regular, clear communication.
• Support senior Tax Processing Specialists with online filings and payments.
• Support senior Tax Processing Specialists in handling and tracking notices from tax authorities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for assigned clients.
• Take part in structured mentoring and begin peer support activities.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
