Job summary

Birla Estates is seeking a proactive EHS Officer to ensure effective implementation of safety policies at project sites in Mumbai. You will monitor activities, identify hazards, and promote a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and workers.

Key duties include conducting safety inspections, leading toolbox talks and inductions, coordinating JSA/HIRA, monitoring PPE, and maintaining safety records while ensuring regulatory compliance and timely corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Implement EHS policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at project sites.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and company safety standards.
• Monitor the use of PPE by employees and contractors.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for workers.
• Assist in preparing and implementing JSA, HIRA, and risk assessments.
• Monitor contractor safety practices and ensure adherence to safety requirements.
• Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and assist in identifying root causes.
• Ensure proper maintenance of safety records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor work permits for high-risk activities such as work at height, hot work, and confined space entry.
• Coordinate with project teams to address safety observations and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Support emergency preparedness activities, mock drills, and fire safety inspections.
