Job summary

S G Controls in Pune is seeking a motivated Quality Assurance & Testing Engineer with 0-2 years experience to join the Quality & Testing team. The candidate will assist in inspection and testing of Electrical Control Panels used in Process Automation, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, internal quality standards, and applicable electrical standards before dispatch.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or related engineering discipline.
• 0-2 years of experience in Electrical Control Panels, Industrial Automation, Testing, or Quality Assurance.
• Fresh graduates with relevant academic projects, internships, or industrial training are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist in quality inspection and testing of Electrical Control Panels before dispatch.
• Verify panel wiring against electrical schematics, GA drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Perform continuity, insulation resistance (IR), and basic functional testing under guidance of senior engineers.
• Inspect components such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, MCCBs, MCBs, relays, contactors, terminal blocks, and power supplies.
• Identify wiring errors and workmanship issues and report to production for correction.
• Assist in test reports, inspection checklists, and quality documentation.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and customer inspections.
• Ensure testing activities adhere to company quality procedures.
• Maintain testing instruments and equipment in good condition.
• Follow electrical safety practices and company guidelines during inspection and testing.
• Coordinate with production and design teams to resolve basic quality issues.

Job Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the inspection and testing of Electrical Control Panels used in Process Automation, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, internal quality standards, and applicable electrical standards before dispatch. Fresh Diploma and Engineering graduates with a strong understanding of electrical systems and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the quality inspection and testing of Electrical Control Panels before dispatch.
• Verify panel wiring against electrical schematics, GA drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Perform continuity, insulation resistance (IR), and basic functional testing under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Inspect electrical components such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, MCCBs, MCBs, relays, contactors, terminal blocks, power supplies, and other control panel devices.
• Identify wiring errors, missing components, and workmanship issues, and report them to the production team for correction.
• Support the preparation of test reports, inspection checklists, and quality documentation.
• Assist during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and customer inspections.
• Ensure all testing activities are completed as per company quality procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of testing instruments and equipment.
• Follow all electrical safety practices and company safety guidelines during inspection and testing.
• Coordinate with production and design teams to resolve basic quality-related issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience:

• 0-2 years of experience in Electrical Control Panels, Industrial Automation, Testing, or Quality Assurance.
• Freshers with relevant academic projects, internships, or industrial training are welcome to apply.

Required Skills:

• Basic knowledge of electrical control panels and industrial automation systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Basic understanding of PLC panels, VFD panels, MCC panels, PCC panels, and process automation.
• Familiarity with electrical testing instruments such as:

1. Digital Multimeter
2. Insulation Resistance Tester (Megger)
3. Continuity Tester
4. Clamp Meter

• Basic understanding of electrical safety practices and quality inspection procedures.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Internship or hands-on training in Electrical Control Panel Manufacturing or Industrial Automation.
