Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in India is seeking a Testing & Commissioning lead for the High Speed rail project using Shinkansen technology.

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, reviewing documents, and ensuring timely T&C completion across MS-4, MS 3.1, MS-1; interfacing with JE/NHSRCL, RTRI, EIG inspectors, vendors, and internal teams.

This role requires strong leadership, precise methodology, and the ability to recruit testing engineers and coordinate external agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing and commissioning of rail or similar large-scale projects.
• Ability to finalize testing methodology and strategy with multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with interfaces such as OHE, PSI, MV/LV & MEP works.
• Proven track record in coordinating site activities with engineering, safety and QA teams.

Responsibilities

• Take complete accountability and responsibility for Testing & Commissioning.
• Assist in finalizing testing methodology and strategy for OHE, PSI, MV/LV & MEP with inspectors.
• Attend meetings with JE/NHSRCL, Vendors, and RTRI/EIG inspectors as required for T&C.
• Coordinate interface for T&C with engineering, site construction, QA, safety, and utility offices.
• Review and approve EIG documents, T&C method statements, and related documents.
• Plan, schedule, and execute T&C work for MS-4 and MS 3.1.
• Ensure timely completion of T&C for MS-1 & 3.1 per Employer targets.
• Decide testing agencies for renting/leasing T&C equipment.
• Coordinate and complete recruitment of Testing Engineers.
• If needed, rope small agencies to address gaps in T&C.

The following are the major tasks involved in Testing & Commissioning and Integrated testing & commissioning of High Speed rail project having the Shinkansen technology, but not limited to -

• Complete accountability & responsibility of Testing & Commsioning
• Active participation in finalization of Testing & Commissioning methodology and strategy of OHE, PSI, MV/LV & MEP works as per contract along with RTRI, JE, NHSRCL, EIG Inspectors.
• Attending Meetings with JE/NHSRCL, Vendors, Internal stake holders & RTRI, EIG inspectors as required for T&C
• Active coordination and interface required for T&C for PSI, MV/LV works & MEP works with Engineering and Site Construction team, Interface, Quality & Safety Managers, JE / NHSRCL, Utility offices.
• Review and approval of EIG documents/ Testing & Commissioning method statements/ Other documents related to Testing & Commissioning.
• Planning, Scheduling and executing of Testing & Commissioning work for MS-4 and MS 3.1
• To ensure the timely completion of Testing & Commissioning for MS-1 & 3.1 in line with target set by Employer
• Responsible for deciding the Testing agencies for Renting/Leasing T&C equipment.
• Fully Coordinate & Complete recruitment of Testing Engineers.
• If needed, decide to rope small agencies to address gaps in T&C.
