Job summary

SGS India is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with BE in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years in Testing & Commissioning of electrical equipment and construction projects.

The role involves ensuring quality compliance, coordinating with GCs/Sub-Contractors, and managing handover (HOTO) processes. You will also verify documents like ITPs, MS, and SORs, and ensure timely asset readiness.

Qualifications

• Must have 7+ years experience in Testing & Commissioning for electrical systems.
• BE Electrical Engineering with exposure to construction site QA/QC.
• Capable of coordinating with GC/Sub-Contractors and ensuring HOTO readiness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily tracker for all stages of Testing & Commissioning across equipment.
• Ensure reports are formatted in unified template and uploaded after CxA review.
• Verify tags, checklists, and protocols are followed at every stage.
• Prepare and submit MOPs to STT/Customer/Operations 15 days prior to activity.
• Coordinate with GCs/Sub-Contractors/Suppliers to receive and verify As-built drawings.
• Review As-Builts against conditions and share corrected versions 7 days prior to RFS.
• Plan and conduct Operations training through OEMs/GCs before RFS and after IST.
• Upload Lesson Learnt Documents within 30 days of RFS.
• Close Site Observation Reports and IRLs before stage L4.

Job description

Testing & Commissioning, RFS and post RFS Closure:

1) To maintain daily tracker of all stages of T&C for all the equipment.

2) Ensure all relevant reports are properly formatted in one format and submitted / uploaded post review from CxA.

3) Ensure all tags are in place all the time post clearance of that level of testing.

4) To ensure all stages checklist are reviewed and cleared and protocols are followed.

5) All MOPs are prepared and submitted to STT/Customer/Operations 15 days prior to the activity.

6) Coordinating with all GCs/Sub-Contractors/Suppliers to receive As-built. Review all As-built thoroughly as per existing conditions and get it corrected wherever required before sharing it with STT/Customer. Ensuring correct As-Builts are shared/uploaded 07 days prior to RFS.

7) Plan and conduct training in Operations through OEMs/GCs. This should be conducted before RFS and after IST.

8) All documents including Lesson Learnt Document to be uploaded within 30days of RFS.

9) All SOR (Site Observation Reports) and IRL (Issue Resolution Log) must be closed before stage L4.

Qualification

B.E. in Electrical Engineering

Experience

Minimum 7 years in Testing & Commissioning.

Critical Skills desired

• Sound knowledge of Testing & Commissioning in Electrical works.
• BE Electrical with min. experience of 7 years.
• Capability to ensure quality compliance through inspection, testing, commissioning, physical verification during construction, also successfully project handing over taking over (HOTO) experience.
