Job summary

Citi is seeking a Test Manager to own the Testing lifecycle within GUAT. You will lead end-to-end testing projects, oversee a team of 8+ resources, and drive defect triage calls while delivering insightful MIS dashboards for senior leadership.

The role requires strong project management, communication, and data analysis skills, with experience in investment banking testing domains and multiple testing methodologies.

Qualifications

• Graduation / Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce, or a related field.
• 7–9 years of experience in the testing lifecycle within the Investment Banking domain.
• Proven track record of successfully leading testing projects.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing and leading teams.
• Post-Graduate Degree (e.g., Master's in Computer Science, MBA, or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of testing projects, including test estimation, milestone planning, and UAT execution.
• Contribute to Test Plans, lead Test Readiness Reviews, track progress, and deliver Test Completion/Summary Reports and Defect Reports.
• Manage and analyze vast data points to ensure comprehensive test coverage and accurate defect tracking.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology suppliers, and operational teams to resolve issues and improve service.
• Lead defect triage and client calls, ensuring quick responsiveness and resolution of high-priority items.
• Prepare and present MIS dashboards for strategic meetings with function owners and senior leadership.

The Test Manager will take full ownership of the success of testing projects within the Global User Acceptance Testing (GUAT) department. This role is responsible for defining test scope, deploying and managing resources, scheduling defect triage calls, performing testing and publishing key test artifacts.

The successful candidate will interact closely with Global IT, Business, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality products to internal and external clients, ensuring all agreed service standards are met or exceeded. A strong commitment to continuous process improvement, operational efficiency, and a client-centric mindset is essential. The candidate is expected to foster a culture of the highest ethical standards, collaboration, and transparency within the team.

Primary Responsibilities

Project & Test Management

• Project Ownership: Take end-to-end ownership of testing projects, including test estimation, milestone planning, and UAT execution.
• Test Planning & Execution: Support Project Managers by contributing to comprehensive Test Plans, leading Test Readiness Reviews, tracking progress, and delivering Test Completion/Summary Reports and Defect Reports.
• Data-Driven Analysis: Manage, analyze, and synthesize vast data points (e.g., trade lifecycle data, financial instruments, and complex test metrics) to ensure comprehensive test coverage and accurate defect tracking.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, technology suppliers, and operational support teams to understand requirements, resolve issues, and identify areas for service improvement.
• Meeting & Triage Leadership: Lead defect triage and client calls, ensuring quick responsiveness and resolution of high-priority action items.
• Reporting & Dashboards: Prepare and present high-quality MIS dashboards for strategic meetings with function owners and senior leadership, providing a clear, strategic view of the testing process.

People & Team Leadership

• Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of 8+ resources, ensuring accurate and timely execution of assigned tasks.

Key Skills & Competencies

Essential (Must-Have)

• Project Management: Proficient in project management fundamentals, resource allocation, prioritization, risk assessment, and mitigation planning.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to negotiate, influence change, and liaise effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
• Analytical & Data Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle and interpret vast data points and complex financial datasets.
• Domain Expertise: Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle, financial instruments, and core investment banking operations.
• Testing Methodologies: Adaptability to various testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, etc.) and experience across different testing types (functional, regression, black-box, etc.).
• Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) for reporting and presentation, Jira, Zephyr.

Desirable (Good-to-Have)

• Domain Exposure: Direct exposure to Capital market, including Transfer Agency functions
• Automation & Technical Skills: Hands-on experience or familiarity with Test Automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT, QTP), SQL Developer, and macros.
• Emerging Technologies: Experience or interest in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning concepts within testing lifecycles.
• Certifications: ISTQB or equivalent professional testing certifications.
