Job summary

Siemens in Bangalore is seeking a Test Lead Engineer with 8–10 years of overall experience and 5+ years in software testing to lead manual testing of SICAM SOG products and grid automation applications.

You will Define test strategy, coordinate planning across releases, mentor engineers, validate domain requirements, and ensure defect control, with close collaboration with product owners and development teams.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years total IT/engineering experience.
• Minimum 5+ years in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
• Minimum 3+ years leading testing activities or test teams.
• Experience in large-scale Substation Automation, Power Grid, or Energy Management applications.
• ISTQB Certified Tester (Preferred).
• Domain Knowledge: Power Distribution Networks, Grid Automation, Substation Automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead manual testing activities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Define overall test strategy for SICAM SOG products and related Grid Automation applications.
• Coordinate test planning across multiple releases and feature deliveries.
• Mentor and guide test engineers.
• Requirement Analysis & Domain Validation; analyze requirements, specs, and user stories.
• Review requirements for completeness and testability; validate power system workflows against real-world utility operations.
• Defect Management: review and prioritize defects; drive defect closure with development teams.
• Drive sprint ceremonies, reviews, demonstrations, and release planning; monitor quality KPIs.

We are looking for: Test Lead Engineer – Manual Testing & Domain Validation

You’ll make an impact by:

• Test Leadership: Define overall test strategy for SICAM SOG products and related Grid Automation applications.
• Lead manual testing activities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate test planning across multiple releases and feature deliveries.
• Mentor and guide test engineers.
• Requirement Analysis & Domain Validation
• Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
• Review requirements for completeness and testability.
• Validate power system workflows against real-world utility operations.
• Ensure compliance with domain standards and customer requirements.
• Defect Management: Review and prioritize defects.
• Ensure detailed defect reporting with domain impact analysis.
• Work closely with Development and Product Owners to drive defect closure.
• Conduct root cause analysis for critical issues.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with, Product Owners, Architects, Domain Experts, Development Teams, Commissioning Teams, Customers.
• Driving sprint ceremonies, reviews, demonstrations, and release planning.
• Quality Governance: Establish quality metrics and release readiness criteria.
• Monitor test execution status and quality KPIs.
• Drive continuous process improvements.
• Support certification, factory testing, and site acceptance testing activities.

• B.E / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, Power Systems, Electro-Optics Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience: 8 to 10 years of total experience.
• Minimum 5+ years in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
• Minimum 3+ years leading testing activities or test teams.
• Experience in large-scale Substation Automation, Power Grid, or Energy Management applications.

• Strong experience in Types testing ,Test Planning, Test Design, and Test Strategy preparation.
• Requirement Traceability and Coverage Analysis, Risk-Based Testing Approach.
• Defect Lifecycle Management, ISTQB Certified Tester (Preferred)
• Domain Knowledge (Mandatory)
• Strong understanding of: Power Distribution Networks, Grid Automation Systems, Substation Automation, Smart Grid Solutions
• Self-Healing Networks, Load Management, Automatic Source Transfer, Wide Area Voltage Control (WAVC)
• Microgrid Control Systems, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Renewable Integration, EV Charging Infrastructure.
