Job summary

Siemens in Chennai seeks a Lead System Engineer (Low Voltage – Datacenters) with 5–9 years in projects. You’ll design LV distribution, implement technical requirements and coordinate with customers and factories to deliver on time.

Role requires knowledge of IEC 61439, strong English, and willingness to work 40 hours/week with 10% external location. Based in Chennai, you’ll influence city-scale impacts with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in power/electrical engineering.
• 5-9 years of project experience.
• Experience with electrical distribution and protection systems.
• Knowledge of IEC 61439 standards.
• Willing to work at external locations (10%).
• Proficient in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Configure LV distribution systems and align interfaces with customers.
• Implement technical requirements and design details.
• Create detailed designs and commissioning plans.
• Write FAT/FWT test plans for site and factories.
• Serve as main contact to factories and monitor progress.
• Address technical issues and assess impact of extra work.
• Collaborate closely with lead engineer and project manager.

We are looking for: Lead System Engineer - Low Voltage - Datacenters

You’ll Make An Impact By

• Engineering activities such as:
• Configuration of LV distribution systems and alignment of interfaces with our customers;
• Implementation of technical requirements
• Making detailed design;
• Write assembly and commissioning plans;
• Perform FAT and FWT test on site and in our factories;
• Main point of contact to our factories;
• Monitor the progress of the work and solve technical issues;
• Place orders and assess commercial impact for additional work that is carried out;
• Close collaboration with lead engineer and project manager.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in power engineering / electrical engineering.
• 5-9 years of experience in projects.
• Experience with electrical distribution systems and protection systems;
• Knowledge of applicable IEC standards (IEC 61439)
• Flexible work attitude, practical and result-oriented;
• Communicative, involved, stress-resistant and able to act within a hectic environment;
• Willing to work on external location (10% on external location);
• Excellent knowledge of the English language, written and spoken;
• 40-hour workweek.
