Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) seeks a senior Software Systems Design Engineer to guide a team in a fast‑paced setting. The role emphasizes AI-enabled tooling, performance optimization, automation, and test architectures, with cross‑functional collaboration across groups.

The candidate will mentor developers, contribute long‑range strategy, and stay current with AI trends to provide consultative direction to management.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills.
• Solid programming skills in Python, C, or C++.

PMTS SOFTWARE SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER

THE ROLE:

We are seeking an engineer to join our team that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment, using effective communication, problem-solving and prioritization skills. Individuals that are well organized, show great attention to detail, and employ critical thinking. Individuals who have technically led small teams, driven and collaborated across organizations for architectures and deliverable would effectively fit into the role.

THE PERSON:

This AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) team is looking for a senior level person that can help guide the team, mentor upcoming developers, provide long range strategy, and is competent and willing to jump in to help resolve issues quickly. You will be involved in all areas that impact the team including development of AI enabled tools, supporting performance optimizations, automation, and test architectures. The right candidate will be informed on the latest trends and become prepared to give consultative direction to senior management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Product engineering background with hardware platforms and their software & firmware ecosystems with ~15 years of product engineering experience


• Integration of advanced Large Language Models (LLMs) and autonomous agents into core product suite and deep expertise in prompt engineering


• Experience into test architecture, test strategy and validation automation


• Excellent verbal communication andwritten,presentation skills


• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, and technical leadership skills


• Provenrecord of accomplishmentin deliveringlarge multi-functionalproduct solutions


• Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment


• Solid programming skills in Python, C, or C++

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, AI, or a closely related field
