Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience validating data-centric applications.

• Knowledge of SDLC and STLC, Agile methodologies, and defect management processes.
• Familiarity with Jira, SPIRA, or TestRail; Azure DevOps and test automation are a plus.

Job Overview

The individual is responsible for maintaining database objects, ETL processes, reports, and backend components while ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of applications and data platforms. The role includes participating in requirements analysis, solution design, coding, unit testing, database validation, ETL testing, defect resolution, and production support activities. The individual will work closely with business analysts, developers, DBAs, and stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-quality data solutions.

Essential Functions

• Carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet minimum organization standards and end-user requirements.
• Writes test plans and detailed test scripts supporting test cases derived from an analysis of functional requirements and programming specifications, perform unit, functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance, backend, database, and data validation testing to ensure quality and reliability of applications and data solutions.
• Thoroughly tests software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects prior to implementation.
• Documents and works to resolve all problems.
• Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.
• Performs work flow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
• Establishes software quality standards for life cycle, documentation, development methods, testing and maintenance.
• Establishes advanced software test standards and methods and conducts complex software tests.
• Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements; participate in solution design; enhance, maintain, and validate SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, reports, data extracts, and other database objects to support business and reporting requirements.
• Design, support, execute, and validate ETL processes, database solutions, and data workflows, ensuring accurate data movement, transformation logic, business rule compliance, data integrity, and operational stability across source and target systems.
• Conduct data reconciliation, source-to-target validation, data quality analysis, and report verification to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with business requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, test, and validate SQL jobs, batch processes, applications, databases, ETL workflows, and production releases; identify issues, implement fixes, and recommend performance and reliability improvements.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects; participate in root cause analysis, defect triage, peer reviews, and resolution activities while ensuring adherence to development standards and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with developers, QAs, DBAs, business analysts, and stakeholders to review requirements and technical specifications, deliver scalable and high-quality solutions, communicate status and quality metrics, and support deployments, release validation, production verification, and post-release testing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing practices, testing processes, test coverage, automation opportunities, and overall solution quality, while performing additional responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-4 years of experience in validating data-centric applications.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and complex SQL query development.
• Experience developing and testing stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and database jobs.
• Experience working with ETL processes and data integration solutions.
• Strong understanding of database design principles, data validation, and data quality concepts.
• Experience validating data transformations, mappings, and source-to-target reconciliations.
• Familiarity with reporting solutions and report validation techniques.
• Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, and defect management processes.
• Experience using tools such as Jira, SPIRA, or TestRail.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in Azure DevOps and Test automation will be an added advantage.

Preferred

• Experience with report development and support using SSRS, ETL or similar reporting platforms.
• Basic understanding of automation testing frameworks and scripting.
• Experience in data warehousing, healthcare, or enterprise reporting environments.
• Familiarity with release management, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of performance testing and database optimization techniques.
