Job summary

Tally Solutions' Engineering centre in Bangalore is seeking a testing engineer to champion quality across our software products. You will design and implement robust testing strategies, emphasize automation, and ensure reliable releases for desktop applications in the financial domain.

Collaborating with developers and stakeholders, you will create test plans, execute across cross‑OS platforms, analyze results, and drive continuous improvements to testing processes and product quality.

Qualifications

• Good Understanding in STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
• Experience of testing desktop applications, preferably in the financial domain.
• Automation experience with good Programming skills expertise in scripting languages like Python/Java.
• Understanding of OS fundamentals, system architecture component interactions.
• Experience of testing applications on cross OS platforms.
• Good debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• This is a full stack functional testing role who can design and execute the test plan for a client component of the product.
• Participate in the tool POC, test environment setup, test design, execution result analysis for the component.
• Automate tests for functional validation of the components using the existing automation framework.
• Execute test iterations and publish the test report with issue analysis and prioritization.
• Coordinate with the development team to perform root cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis.

• Operating system: We use a trimmed-down version of the Linux
• Database system: An Object-oriented database written by Tally to support single view, replication, distributed and multi-tenancy.
• Web server app server: We shall write our own hosting platform that can handle millions of connections per server.
