Job summary

Brainworks Business Solutions is seeking an experienced Test Engineer for ACL testing across NFS/SMB environments. You will validate file permissions, ownership, and access controls while executing system and manual tests on Linux.

The role requires 8-12 years of testing experience, strong scripting in Python or Shell, and familiarity with TestRail and defect tracking. Hybrid work model with WFO 3 days, based in India (Pune/Bangalore/Indore).

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of Manual/System Testing experience.
• Hands-on ACL Testing expertise.
• Knowledge of NFS and SMB/CIFS protocols.
• Strong Linux/Unix command-line skills.
• Experience with TestRail, test execution, and defect management.
• Exposure to storage, NAS or distributed file systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute ACL interoperability test cases across NFS and SMB environments.
• Validate file and directory permissions, ownership, users, groups, and effective access.
• Perform manual testing for file operations: create, read, write, modify, rename, delete, execute.
• Verify ACL inheritance, permission propagation, access-denied scenarios, and effective permissions.
• Execute Linux commands (chmod, chown, getfacl, setfacl) and analyze outputs.
• Compare expected vs. actual results and document logs and evidence.
• Reproduce issues, capture terminal outputs, support defect investigation.
• Maintain test execution status using TestRail/JIRA and prepare defect reports.
• Collaborate with development and engineering to resolve file system and protocol issues.
• Support testing of enterprise storage, NAS, and distributed file systems.

Job Summary
