Job summary

MedTrix Healthcare in Bengaluru seeks a dedicated Manual QA Tester to join the team. You will design and execute test cases, report defects, and collaborate with developers to ensure quality across web and mobile applications.

The role requires at least 2 years of hands-on testing experience, strong QA knowledge, SQL basics, and familiarity with JIRA or Bugzilla in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

Duties and responsibilities

• Test Planning & Execution: Design and execute detailed, well-structured manual test cases and test scripts based on functional specifications and business requirements.
• Requirement Analysis: Review project requirements, user stories, and technical documentation to understand the testing scope and prepare the test cases accordingly.
• Defect Identification & Reporting: Identify, document, and report defects clearly using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla), ensuring proper communication with developers and stakeholders.
• Functional Testing: Perform functional testing to ensure the application meets the expected behaviour and works as intended for end-users.
• Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not negatively impact the existing functionality of the application.
• Smoke & Sanity Testing: Execute smoke and sanity tests on new builds to ensure basic functionality is intact.
• Cross-Browser & Device Testing: Test applications across different browsers and devices to ensure compatibility and consistent user experience.
• Test Documentation: Maintain detailed records of test results, defects, and test coverage for future reference and audit.
• Collaboration with Teams: Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand project requirements, provide testing feedback, and participate in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and review meetings.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest testing practices and techniques to continually improve the quality of the testing process.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in manual software testing.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong experience in performing manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, and sanity).
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
• Understanding of testing life cycle, testing methodologies, and test case design.
• Knowledge of SQL for querying databases and validating data.
• Testing Knowledge:
• Experience in preparing and executing test cases and test scenarios.
• Ability to conduct exploratory testing to identify hidden issues or user experience problems.
• Understanding of Agile methodology and familiarity with Agile practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Soft Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact with various stakeholders.
• Problem‑solving attitude with a strong focus on ensuring quality.

Desirable Skills (Optional)

• Experience with test management tools like TestRail or ALM.
• Familiarity with performance testing concepts or tools (e.g., JMeter).
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Exposure to testing in web‑based applications and mobile applications.
• Understanding of basic automation concepts or tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG).

Qualifications

• UG: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• PG: Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
