Overview

Purpose of the role: To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve defects and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Create and execute automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria.
• Conduct root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Perform component testing, end‑to‑end testing, and maintain regression test suites for regression and sanity.
• Monitor test execution, troubleshoot test script issues during health checks, sanity, and regression.
• Create test strategies, scenarios for system (component) and SIT, end‑to‑end testing, and document all testing artifacts and evidence.
• Facilitate regular meetings with business and testing teams to understand expectations, progress, and feedback.
• Report daily status, monitor risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies during each phase of projects.
• Create and publish dashboards for X‑Ray and defects, and work on trendlines for defect metrics.
• Ensure adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define requirements and align solutions with business objectives.
• Maintain and continually improve test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Engage with technology communities, stay informed of industry trends and innovations, and contribute to technical excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong working experience of more than 5 years in Automation Testing and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins).
• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Selenium/Playwright, RestAssured, API Testing, and REST API.
• Experience with test script and test data creation, and performing component and end‑to‑end testing.
• Familiarity with Jira for issue tracking and deliverables.
• Experience creating test strategy, test scenarios, and test closure reports.
• Basic knowledge of Karate automation tool and AI‑based test automation is highly valued.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and risk mitigation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to persuade and guide team members.
