Job summary

Barclays Global Services Centre in Pune is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute testing strategies ensuring software quality and reliability.

You will automate tests with Java/Python, work with REST APIs, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, and GitLab. Banking/Financial services domain experience is preferred. Strong leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Experience automating using an agreed/standard automation framework (Java/Selenium/Cucumber/BDD/Python/RDBMS).
• Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience implementing BDD frameworks using Cucumber, Gherkin.
• Good working experience in Java and Python, Selenium, Cucumber BDD.
• Hands-on experience in API testing and automation using REST Assured.
• Excellent SQL, Unix/Linux skills.
• Working knowledge of Jenkins and experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Maven and/or Gradle for dependency and build management.
• Proficiency in GitLab for source code management.
• Excellent knowledge of RESTful/JSON/XML protocols.
• Ability to integrate automated test suites into deployment pipelines.
• Working experience with API-based automation for quick turnaround.
• Experience in Banking/Financial Services domain preferred.
• Exposure to cloud-based testing environments and modern automation practices.
• Mentoring or leading QA automation teams is an added advantage.
• Ability to document frameworks, utilities, and tools in the team's central knowledge base.

• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
