You will lead automation efforts for Web, Mobile, and API stacks, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive code quality and testing innovation. The role involves shaping test architecture, improving environments, and setting efficiency targets while staying ahead of industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with a focus on quality engineering.
• Experience driving test strategy and automation frameworks using modern test efficiency tools.
• Proficient in testing Web, Mobile, and API stacks.
• Knowledge of BDD and Gherkin.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
• Desirable: observability/monitoring solutions knowledge (e.g., AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK).

Role Purpose

To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve defects and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to ensure software quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
• Create and execute automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria.
• Perform root cause analysis of identified defects and work closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities.
• Lead the Test Architect – VP mandate to contribute or set test strategy, drive environment strategy, automation and efficiency targets, and make recommendations for change.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong software engineering background with a focus on quality engineering.
• Experience driving test strategy, automation framework, and modern test efficiency tools, including GitLab, Selenium, Karate, Cucumber.
• In‑depth knowledge and extensive experience with testing automation frameworks for Web, Mobile, and API tech stacks.
• Knowledge of service virtualization, GitLab, and strong understanding of BDD and Gherkin.
• Strong logical reasoning, problem‑solving, performance tuning, and communication skills.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and repositories such as Jenkins and GitHub.
• Ability to work in large, collaborative teams and adapt to changing priorities.
• Practical experience supporting and maintaining non‑production environments with distributed systems and highly available services.
• Experience with observability/monitoring solutions (AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK, or similar) is desirable.
• Assessments of risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology proficiency.
