Territory Manager – Mass Retail

Territory Managers (TM) at Airtel are the pillars of the Mass Retail Organisation at Airtel serving approximately 360 million consumers across the country. They help onboard, sustain, and serve one in every four Indians.

A territory manager typically contributes towards 10 to 15 million in revenue monthly, directly to the company’s topline.

A TM is responsible for handling a team of 12–15 people including Urban and Rural Promoters, Distributors, Field Sales Executives, Pratinidhis and TLs. Each TM also handles 500–700 Retail outlets and manages a territory of about 60–70 km in radius.

At Airtel, we also offer opportunities to Territory Managers to have exposure in other lines of business, unlike competitors who offer single product exposure. Prospects include Mobility, DTH, Payment Banks and Broadband.

Responsibilities

Sales

• Onboard new customers through efficient handling of trade and control channel fleet of promoters and distributor manpower.
• Achieve tertiary recharge sales and Gross Prepaid targets.
• Work on the “One Airtel” agenda and drive penetration of DTH and Bank Business.
• Set up right distribution for a dominant service edge versus competition.

Service

• Ensure that all distributors are engaged.
• Ensure that customers are onboarded in a smooth and hassle‑free manner.
• Extract business from the territory.
• Own network coverage and quality in the allocated territory.

Team Management

• Onboard, train and manage Field Sales Executives.
• Onboard, train and manage Urban and Rural Promoters.
• Analyse and decipher all MIS reports for appropriate actions.
