Job summary

Tekskills in Bengaluru is seeking a senior Teradata architect/developer to own Teradata plant operations and act as the primary technical contact for all Teradata-hosted applications.

You will onboard new apps, optimize existing solutions, and drive automation and efficiency across the Teradata EDW stack, including performance tuning and capacity management. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in Teradata architecture and development with a focus on performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with UNIX environments.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, automation, and DevOps/CI-CD practices.
• Familiarity with Informatica, Snowflake, Databricks, Hadoop and Tableau is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own Teradata plant and serve as the technical POC for all hosted applications.
• Onboard new applications by reviewing requirements and design.
• Work with teams to optimize solutions for requirements.
• Act as L3 support for Teradata platform issues.
• Perform performance tuning and capacity management.
• Evaluate new technologies for Teradata EDW and perform POC.

• Perform workload management reviews and plan system upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Teradata plant ownership and technical point of contact for all applications hosted on Teradata Warehouse
• Responsible for new application on‑boarding by reviewing requirement and design.
• Assist existing and new applications to come up with most optimized and suitable solutions for their requirement
• L3 point of contact for issues related to Teradata platform.
• Performance tuning and Capacity management
• New technology POC and suitability analysis for Teradata EDW
• Process optimization with the help of automation and new utility development
• Performance review of Teradata changes going into PROD
• Teradata workload management review to ensure SLA adherence for online/report queries
• Plan and execute system upgrade and enhancements

Required Skills

• Strong Analytical and Logical Reasoning ability

• Should be familiar with the best practices and tricks around the Teradata tools and utilities tool
