Job summary

Whitespace Consulting India is seeking an experienced Telemetry Engineer for a leading global bank's LAN/Wi‑Fi visibility initiative. The role focuses on collecting network telemetry, building dashboards and health scores, and correlating events to reduce incident duration.

You will work with SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, streaming telemetry and vendor APIs, and use Grafana, Splunk or Power BI to deliver actionable insights and continuous service improvement across regions.

Qualifications

• Experience with network telemetry platforms (SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, streaming telemetry)

Responsibilities

• Collect network telemetry from global LAN/Wi‑Fi infrastructure using SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow/IPFIX, streaming telemetry and vendor APIs
• Integrate devices with monitoring platforms and configure KPIs, thresholds and polling intervals
• Ensure data availability, quality and consistency across monitored environments
• Develop and maintain operational dashboards and service health reports
• Provide management and operational reports aligned with KPIs/SLA metrics
• Identify recurring trends and areas requiring engineering attention
• Maintain a single view of network health across sites, regions and services
• Correlate events across LAN, Wi‑Fi and dependent network services
• Identify relationships between device, client, RF, authentication, DHCP/DNS and connectivity events
• Reduce alert noise through correlation, de-duplication, suppression and prioritization
• Build and tune correlation rules to separate root‑cause events from symptoms
• Support Operations teams with actionable insights for faster incident resolution
• Provide data and RCA inputs for major incidents
• Develop health scores for network, site, AP and client
• Define health-score inputs and weighting
• Track health trends and improvements
• Monitor vendor SLAs like Juniper Mist SLEs and Marvis insights
• Maintain documentation of data sources, KPIs, dashboards and procedures

Role: Telemetry Engineer / Network Observability & Analytics Engineer.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Telemetry Engineer for our client, one of the top 5 largest banks in the world. The role will provide centralized network visibility and intelligence across the clients global Enterprise LAN and Wi‑Fi environment. The candidate will be responsible for collecting network telemetry, building operational dashboards and service health reports, correlating events across network services, and developing health scores that enable proactive identification and resolution of service-impacting issues.

Strong hands‑on experience with network monitoring and telemetry platforms (SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow, streaming telemetry and vendor APIs) is highly preferred. Experience with Juniper Mist, Cisco Catalyst / Meraki or similar enterprise LAN/Wi‑Fi platforms, and with data visualization tools such as Grafana, Splunk or Power BI, will be an advantage.

The ideal candidate should be able to turn raw network data into a single view of network health, actionable reporting, intelligent event correlation and meaningful health scores that help Operations teams resolve incidents faster and continuously improve the service.

Key Responsibilities.

Telemetry & Reporting

• Collect network telemetry from global LAN/Wi‑Fi infrastructure using SNMP, Syslog, NetFlow/IPFIX, streaming telemetry and vendor APIs.
• Integrate network devices and controllers with monitoring platforms and ensure proper KPIs, thresholds and polling intervals are configured.
• Ensure data availability, quality and consistency across monitored environments.
• Develop and maintain operational dashboards and service health reports.
• Provide management and operational reports aligned with agreed KPIs/SLA metrics.
• Identify recurring trends and areas requiring engineering attention.
• Maintain a single view of network health across sites, regions and services.

Event Correlation & Analytics

• Correlate events across LAN, Wi‑Fi and dependent network services.
• Identify relationships between device, client, RF, authentication, DHCP/DNS and connectivity events.
• Reduce alert noise through event correlation, de‑duplication, suppression and intelligent prioritization.
• Build and tune correlation rules to separate root‑cause events from symptomatic alerts.
• Support Operations teams (NOC, Service Desk, L2/L3 engineers) with actionable insights for faster incident resolution.
• Provide data and analysis inputs for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of major and recurring incidents.

Health Scoring & Proactive Assurance

• Develop network, site, AP and client health scores.
• Define health‑score inputs and weighting (availability, performance, RF quality, client experience and capacity).
• Track health trends and improvement over time.
• Identify degradation and trends, highlight risks and provide proactive recommendations for service improvement.
• Monitor and interpret vendor service‑level metrics such as Juniper Mist SLEs and Marvis insights.
• Support continuous improvement through trend analysis and data‑driven optimization.
• Maintain documentation of data sources, KPI definitions, dashboards and reporting procedures.

Working knowledge of Enterprise LAN & Wi‑Fi fundamentals (VLANs, STP, DHCP/DNS, 802.1X/RADIUS and RF metrics such as RSSI, SNR and channel utilization) is required.

Experience with Python / scripting, REST APIs and time‑series databases (e.g., InfluxDB, Prometheus) will be an added advantage.

Banking experience will be preferred.
