Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Chennai is seeking a Detailing & Drawing Preparation engineer to develop detailed Tekla models for offshore wind components and fabrication projects. You will align models with IFC/GA drawings and generate complete fabrication and assembly drawings.

Role involves coordinating with design teams, planning, QA/QC, and procurement to ensure accurate, clash-free models and compliant drawings. Porting client feedback into models is essential for project success.

Qualifications

• Experience with Tekla Structures for offshore wind/fabrication projects.
• Ability to extract BOM/MTO from Tekla models.
• Proficient coordination with design, QA/QC, planning, and procurement teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D structural models using Tekla Structures for offshore wind components and fabrication projects.
• Prepare accurate models for jackets, topsides, TP, foundations, and steel structures.
• Ensure model alignment with approved IFC/GA drawings and design inputs.
• Generate fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and single part & assembly drawings from Tekla models.
• Prepare bolt lists, weld details, and connection details per standards.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specs and client requirements.
• Extract accurate BOM/MTO from Tekla models.
• Perform quantity checks and coordinate with planning/procurement teams.
• Coordinate with design engineers, project teams, QA/QC, and fabrication teams.
• Incorporate client comments, design changes, and site feedback into models.
• Ensure clash-free models and resolve interface issues proactively.
