Our Technology Solutions teams collaborate with clients to develop innovative solutions to complex problems, especially for Energy, Water and Transport clients.

Role Overview

As Practice Lead for Technology Solutions in our Global Technology Centre (GTC) in India, you will lead an end‑to‑end client service spanning user experience design, product management, solution architecture, integration, development, testing and service management. The service helps clients implement high‑quality, user‑centric technologies on a vendor‑agnostic basis, primarily on Azure, .NET, Windows, GIS, IoT and related stacks.

You will collaborate with other Practice Leads in India and global counterparts to attract, develop and retain talent; manage delivery quality; strengthen capabilities; and oversee commercial, operational and risk indicators. This is a team‑leadership role with both technical delivery responsibility and non‑productive time allowances.

Accountabilities

• Develop an industry‑leading service in designing, delivering and operating high‑quality technology solutions by defining a clear client journey linked to appropriate toolchains and processes, building capabilities, and recruiting, retaining and developing talent.
• Mature the practice’s technical capabilities and mentor junior members.
• Ensure efficient resource utilisation and growth of the practice.
• Contribute to the Technology Solutions Global Technical Network (GTN).
• Collaborate with Market/Client teams, Regional Portfolio Leads and the GTC Digital Growth Lead to drive sales and shape delivery.
• Streamline interfaces with other practice areas to enable integrated propositions.
• Deliver high‑quality deliverables following best practices, and continuously improve processes.
• Provide thought leadership on technology solutions and emerging industry trends.
• Mentor capability leads and collaborate with Solution Architects, Technical Authority community and Delivery Assurance team.

Person Profile

You should have strong leadership experience providing consultancy services for design, development and operation of high‑quality technology solutions, with a deep background across the full technology stack.

Ideal candidates have spent significant time as senior/principal architects working with .NET, Windows, GIS, IoT and Azure before transitioning to leadership roles.

Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (practical experience considered).
• Extensive experience overseeing design and development of large applications, including process definition and quality control.
• Experience with current programming techniques, development tools, database design, and enterprise RDBMS administration.
• Demonstrable excellence in interpersonal, technical writing and communication.
• Industry‑recognized certification such as Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (or equivalent).
• Domain experience in software and architecture for Cloud and Hybrid Cloud solutions.
• Experience with DevOps approaches, Agile/Waterfall interfaces.
• Leadership of large (25‑100 FTE) development teams, with direct line management, resourcing and budgeting responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate complex problems to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Highly Desirable

• Practical understanding of Microsoft Azure tech stack and relevant certifications.
• Experience as part of Technical Authority, Design Authority or in adherence to Technical Delivery Frameworks.
• Client‑facing role experience, including proposal writing, cost build‑up and value proposition development.
• Knowledge of advanced DevOps practices (CI/CD, DevSecOps, MS DevOps, Jira, Confluence).
• Industry‑recognized certifications such as PRINCE2, APM, Scaled Agile.

Location

While this is a GTC leadership position based in India, we welcome applicants from other geographies who can fulfil the role remotely and travel regularly to India. Secondments will be considered.
