Job summary

AtkinsRéalis India Private Limited seeks a senior leader to head the Sustainability Certification and Design team in India, delivering high-quality sustainability services across regions, managing delivery, and driving client satisfaction.

You will lead business development, bids, and cross-regional collaboration with ME and UK, ensure project delivery on time and on budget, mentor staff, and promote technical excellence in sustainability standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience in sustainability consulting or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of strong management experience leading a multidisciplinary team.
• Accreditation/experience with leading sustainability standards (LEED/WELL/Estidama/Envision/BREEAM/CEM).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; client-facing experience.

Job Description Overview

Collaborate with key team leads in key regions (e.g., Middle East and UK) to deliver high-quality services and strengthen AtkinsRéalis’ reputation as a trusted sustainability partner. Skilled in communicating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders, including clients and regional leadership.

Your role: Lead the Sustainability Certification and Design team for AtkinsRéalis in India and support the Consulting, Strategy & Advisory (CS&A) capability practice. Oversee the successful delivery of projects, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest quality. Lead business development and bidding activities for the team, supporting key regional markets such as the Middle East (ME) and liaising with the UK. Ensure the continued commercial success of the team and contribute towards the sustained financial performance (utilization) of the team. Strengthen and expand the team’s capabilities, service offerings, project pipeline, and market reputation. Serve as the client-facing lead on selected projects and opportunities in key regional markets, fostering client care, maintaining existing relationships, and cultivating new ones. Ensure ongoing client satisfaction and retention, driving repeat business while also developing new client relationships.

Degree in relevant subject matter expertise (e.g., architecture, engineering, sustainability, environment, etc.) Ideally post-graduate qualifications e.g., master’s degree in relevant field. A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in a similar industry, within the consulting environment. Minimum 5 years strong management experience, leading a team of Sustainability subject matter experts. Accreditation and experience with leading sustainability standards, including LEED, WELL, Estidama, Envision, BREEAM, and Certified Energy Manager (CEM). Additional credentials such as Certified Climate Change Professional (CC-P), ISSP Sustainability Excellence Professional (SEP), SITES AP, and Certified Sustainability ESG Practitioner are highly desirable. Proven leadership experience in managing large, multidisciplinary teams across diverse areas of sustainability design services (e.g., sustainability certifications, Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), carbon accounting, energy modelling, waste management, climate advisory, etc.). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated excellence in providing high-quality client service.

About you

Independently lead and manage the Sustainability team to support key regional markets, including the ME with supporting the UK. Oversee project execution and task delivery, managing day-to-day operations, team utilization, and resource allocation to meet regional requirements. Ensure technical excellence and high-quality outputs through rigorous review and QA/QC of team’s deliverables. Provide clear career development pathways for staff, monitor and track performance goals and conduct performance reviews. Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to team members, contributing towards raising & promoting the level of technical excellence. Lead and oversee select projects and bids independently, ensuring strategic alignment and quality delivery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across AtkinsRéalis to support complex regional projects and integrated solutions. Foster client retention through proactive engagement and high-quality service delivery. Champion innovation and digital transformation by introducing technologies and process improvements that enhance efficiency and client value, while promoting a forward-thinking approach to sustainable solutions.

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 4–10 years of relevant experience bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A master’s degree in project management or equivalent is a plus. Chartered status / Professional certifications (e.g., MAPM, Prince 2 practitioner, PMP, MRICS) is an added advantage.
