Job summary

Alteryx Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer for Global Content to create and publish documentation for Alteryx products. You will author help articles, release notes, and practical examples to help customers configure and use the tools.

You will publish outputs from Paligo CMS to HTML5, test them, and collaborate with engineers, product, UX, localization, and support teams to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and timely delivery across languages.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in technical writing for software or SaaS products.
• Clear, professional American English; adaptable for a global audience.
• Translate complex technical details into clear, accessible documentation.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, product, and UX.
• Plan and track work using Jira and Confluence; communicate proactively.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Technical Writer – Global Content

Our Global Content team is looking for a talented technical writer who wants to create valuable content experiences for our audience. Our team writes content for Alteryx Documentation. Our site is available in 8 languages and has over 100,000 monthly users. You'll fit right in if you are passionate about online technical communication and helping customers to find the answers they need. You will thrive if you believe that all customers should have a helpful, positive, and accessible experience, regardless of the language they choose and the technologies they use to navigate and consume our content.

What You Will Own and Improve

Authoring documentation: Write help articles, release notes, and examples that enable customers to use and configure Alteryx products.

Publishing documentation: We create our content in the Paligo CMS and publish it in AWS. You will own the process for generating the outputs (usually in HTML5), testing, and publishing them. You will also collaborate with the other tech writers to suggest improvements to the outputs and publishing process.

Contribute to our peer review and styles and standards processes: You will ask your fellow writers to review your work, and you will review their work. You will propose topics for styles and standards and participate in our discussions.

AI-assisted workflows: Use AI tools and agent-assisted workflows to improve efficiency, reduce repetitive work, and produce better first drafts. Contribute to the team's growing set of shared AI practices, including documentation agents that integrate with Jira, Confluence, and GitLab, and help refine them over time.

Cross-functional collaboration: Work with engineering, product, UX, localization, and support teams to ensure your content is accurate, timely, and accessible across languages and user contexts.

Requirements

• You have 2 or more years of experience in technical writing for software or SaaS products.
• You write clear, professional American English and can adapt your style for a global audience.
• You can translate complex technical details into clear, accessible documentation.
• You work well with multidisciplinary teams and are comfortable partnering with engineering, product, and UX.
• You plan and track your work using Jira and Confluence. You seek clarity, follow through on commitments, and communicate proactively.
• You have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a field relevant to this role.

Your Team

We are part of the Product organization. Our group reports to the VP of UX. You will be a member of the Technical Writing team, which reports to the manager of Global Content. Global Content includes two teams: Technical Writing and Content Design. We have work flexible schedules. India team members collaborate with US-based colleagues across time zones, with team calls scheduled to accommodate distributed working hours.
