Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation in Hyderabad is seeking a Technical Specialist – Embedded Linux to design and release robust Yocto-based Linux OS distributions for embedded products. You will maintain the Yocto build system in CI/CD, configure kernels and bootloaders, port drivers, and automate validation in CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires strong C/C++ development, Linux/embedded experience, and familiarity with DevOps tools and open-source communities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of embedded Linux software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ development skills.
• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting.
• Passion for Linux and open source.
• Solid experience with Yocto/OpenEmbedded and Buildroot.
• Experience with U-Boot, Linux kernel configuration and Device Tree.
• Experience building Linux platforms with open source packages.
• Familiarity with cross-toolchains, CMake, and build automation.
• Experience with ARM-based platforms (NXP/TI).
• Strong DevOps experience with Git, CI/CD (GitLab/Jenkins/AWS).
• Knowledge of security concepts (DevSecOps) is a plus.
