Job summary

UL LLC seeks an experienced Project Manager in Pune to lead small to medium projects, provide leadership to project teams, and act as the front-line contact for project activities, issues, and risks.

You will manage budgets, coordinate interdependencies, report to sponsors, and ensure governance and alignment of deliverables with business outcomes, while adhering to UL's Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

  • Over four years of project management experience.
  • Experience with project and portfolio management tools (Visio, MS Project, Clarity).
  • Bachelor's degree; PMP/PRINCE2/Agile certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of small to medium projects and lead the project team.
  • Provide leadership and support to project team members.
  • Act as front-line contact on project activities, issues, and risks.
  • Manage project risks and issues and escalate accordingly.
  • Interface with Business Unit Leaders and Finance to develop ROI, IRR and other financial measures.
  • Manage stakeholders' communication and escalations.
  • Adhere to program and project governance (controls).
  • Plan the overall project and monitor progress through the life cycle.
  • Manage the project budget and financial performance.
  • Coordinate projects and their interdependencies.
  • Align deliverables to the project's outcomes with the business change manager.
  • Read and follow the UL Code of Conduct and maintain security practices.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Job description


  • Managing the implementation of small to medium projects.


  • Provides overall leadership and support to project team members.


  • Acts as front-line contact on project related activities, issues, and risks.


  • Manages the project risks and issues and escalates accordingly.


  • Interfaces with Business Unit Leaders, and with Finance and develops ROI, IRR and other financial measures.


  • Manages stakeholders' communication and escalates accordingly.


  • Adheres to program and project governance (controls).


  • Plans the overall project and monitors the progress and performs Daily project management throughout the project's life cycle.


  • Manages the projects budget and financial performance.


  • Coordinates the projects and their interdependencies.


  • Manages and utilizes resources.


  • Aligns the deliverables (outputs) to the project's outcome with the aid of the business change manager.


  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.


  • Performs other duties as directed.

  • Strong project management and team leadership skills.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with sponsor reporting and escalation experience.


  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.


  • Strong facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills.


  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.


  • Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.


  • Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success.


  • Understanding of software development lifecycles (i.e. Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative).


  • In depth understanding of project management concepts.



EXPERIENCE


  • More than four years of project management experience.


  • Experience working on project and portfolio management Tools (Visio, MS Project, Clarity, etc.).



EDUCATION


  • Bachelors' degree PMP, Prince 2 and/or Agile certification (preferred but not required).
