Job summary

Google LLC in Bengaluru, India seeks a Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives for Google Search Platforms. You will plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate clearly with executives and engineers across the company.

You will work on scalable infrastructure, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive alignment across time zones while exploring AI/ML capabilities to modernize TPM functions and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of TPM leadership experience delivering infrastructure solutions.
• Preferred Master's degree and 8+ years experience.
• Domain expertise: backend infra, distributed systems, evaluation/testing.
• Experience or interest in AI/ML, LLMs, agentic workflows.
• Proven cross-functional leadership across time zones.

• Deep domain expertise in backend infrastructure, distributed systems, evaluation systems, or testing frameworks.
  
• Experience or strong interest in leveraging modern AI/ML capabilities, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agentic workflows to modernize Technical Program Manager (TPM) functions (e.g., automated dependency tracking, predictive risk modeling, and operational streamlining).
• Proven track record of driving cross-functional alignment, managing distributed teams across multiple time zones, and prioritizing complex workstreams amidst ambiguity.

The Search Serving Infrastructure (SSI) team is at the heart of Google Search. Our mission is to provide a reliable, highly efficient, and performant serving framework that powers the Search ecosystem handling billions of queries a day. We address massive-scale engineering challenges, from reducing latency and CPU/TPU capacity footprints to driving large-scale architectural simplification efforts (like deprecating legacy monolithic servers in favor of modern, scalable services).

Responsibilities

• Scope, shape, and lead large-scale programs spanning multiple engineering tracks. Co-develop strategies, goals, and success metrics for the broader organization.
• Perform technical assessments to evaluate engineering scope, establish milestones, define timeframes, and assess resourcing needs. Demonstrate technical judgment equivalent to a practicing Software Engineer in the infrastructure domain.
• Identify, anticipate, and manage risks, deliverables, and interdependencies across different Search Platforms and partner teams. Build mechanisms to optimize governance and information flow.
• Drive continuous optimizations in operational cadence, tooling, and communication, minimizing process friction while fostering development velocity and quality.
• Advocate alignment across disparate teams with differing objectives. Guide and influence cross-functional peers, driving consensus for technical directions and prioritizing features against constraints.
