Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Technical Leader to guide multi-project combustion NPI and fleet efforts, owning design, quality, and schedules. You will shape technical execution plans, provide direction to cross-functional teams, and drive system-wide optimization with data-driven analysis and RCA reviews.

You will mentor engineers, lead AI-enabled design improvements, and push for continuous quality enhancements while collaborating closely with mechanical, controls, and system teams.

Job Description Summary

The Technical Leader is responsible for leading multiple combustion NPI and Fleet projects with complete ownership of complete combustion system, quality of deliverables and schedule. In this role, You will lead and develop strategic technical execution plan and provide technical work direction to the cross functional team. You will lead projects with broad design scope, in depth interpretation of test data, analysis results and prepare for design/RCA reviews with clear conclusions and recommendations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and execute Combustion system projects as well as fleet issue resolution for various gas turbine engine, using sound engineering principles and adhering to the business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
• Provide leadership in driving combustion system development in alignment with business strategy.
• Drive systems thinking in the team, look for system level solutions.
• Owns and solves business challenging programs, RCAs and supplier/manufacturing issue working independently/with team.
• Work closely with mechanical design, accessories, controls and system teams for system level optimization. Sells ideas/solutions to stake holders and solves end customers issues/challenges.
• Drive product design ownership and accountability to achieve goals.
• Collaborate effectively with cross functional team to create/implement inventions for combustion system improvements.
• Proactively identifies, supports and promotes continuous improvement of quality process. Identify the gaps in analytical vs. lab/field data and develop/enable the tools and design practices.
• Integrate and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance design efficiency and predictive accuracy
• Collaborate with controlled title holders and ensure review rigor and attention to detail.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team in tools, analysis process, design optimization and Develop self-sufficient team to lead systems/component design.
• Drive documentation & model management culture with team members.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s in Mechanical /Aerospace Engineering
• At least 10+ year of experience in the field of gas turbine Combustion Design - Aero Thermal, operability, Mechanical.

Desired Characteristics

• Extensive experience with GE Power product line and its combustion system.
• Strong understanding of combustion, emissions, acoustics and gas turbine technology.
• Extensive experience in field commissioning and troubleshooting of combustion operability as well as executing combustion lab test. Willingness to travel at short notice.
• Solid track record on project planning & project management.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; effective at both facilitating discussions and presenting technical information.
• A self-starter with a strong customer-satisfaction mindset, a high orientation toward quality, and a commitment to mentoring and growing others.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Experience with digital analytics techniques to enhance combustion operability window.
