Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Complex Gas Upgrades Senior Requisition Engineer to coordinate conversions, modifications and uprates on gas turbines and allied equipment in the installed base.

You will own scheduling, engineering definition, BOM/DWG approvals, FMI, and resolve technical issues during installation. This role requires 8+ years in power generation engineering, strong project management, and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, controls, or related) or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of engineering or field experience in power generation, with direct exposure to gas turbines and combined-cycle plant operations (peaking and CCGT configurations).
• Ability to interpret and produce engineering documentation (P&IDs, one-line diagrams, mechanical drawings, specifications, BOMs).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support project and site activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide wing to wing support for proposals and projects from inquiry to remittance (ITR).
• Develop and monitor engineering project schedules to meet milestones defined by Project Management, GE Field Service and Customer.
• Communicate project scope to Engineering / Manufacturing / Sourcing / Field Service / Service Shop Personnel and Customer.
• Provide technical support to Engineering / Manufacturing / Sourcing / Field Service / Service Shop Personnel during project execution and installation.
• Deliver technical presentations to customers and other GE components.
• Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs.
• Promote professional growth of the global Requisition Engineering team juniors through coaching and mentoring.
• Ensure timely completion of all project objectives.
• Demonstrate accountability for functional and business objectives.

Job Description Summary

The Heavy Duty Services Complex Gas OTR team owns the engineering execution of conversions, modifications, and uprates to the global installed fleet of GE Gas Turbines and associated Plant equipment.

The Complex Gas Upgrades Senior Requisition Engineer will provide technical coordination for conversions, modifications, and up-rates on Gas Turbines and associated Plant equipment within the GE installed base. You will be responsible for managing the engineering project immediately after order conversion though installation. The requisition engineer owns scheduling, engineering definition, parts ordering, BOM / DWG approval, Field Modification Instruction (FMI) and resolution of technical issues during installation of assigned projects.

Desired:

• Systems thinker - Able to understand, adapt and anticipate the relationships of major equipment inside a combined cycle power plant.
• Knowledge of BOP Electrical equipment. Excitation, Load Commutator Inverter, One-line diagrams, Generator Protection, Synchronization, Motor Control Centers.
• Knowledge of Pant Communication Networks GE controllers with DCS
• Understanding of Gas Turbines Power train operation in Peaking and Combined Cycle configurations
• Knowledge of GE Gas Turbine product lines and systems.
• Familiar with GT MLI/BOM structure.
• Proficient in the Gas Turbine Requisition process.
• Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills, as well as a high degree of enthusiasm to drive results
