Job summary

SolarEdge Technologies Inc. is seeking a Technical Lead - PCB Engineer in Bengaluru to lead PCB layout for power electronics products, collaborating with hardware, mechanical, and product teams.

You will design high-power layouts, perform reviews and simulations, and apply thermal and EMI/EMC best practices to ensure reliability and manufacturability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant PCB design experience for power electronics.
• Proficiency in PCB design software (Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, Altium).
• Strong understanding of power electronics and PCB layout standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PCB layouts for power electronics systems (inverters, converters, EV chargers).
• Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and product teams to ensure optimal integration.
• Conduct design reviews, simulations, and reliability analyses.
• Apply best practices for high-power/high-frequency PCB design including thermal management and EMC/EMI mitigation.

Our R&D division is growing globally, and we are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior PCB Layout Engineer to join our PCB Layout Design team at the new R&D site in Bangalore, India.

The PCB Layout Design team is responsible for the layout designs of all the Hardware products/projects, and you will work with our Power Electronics and Mechanical Engineers. The work includes working with Power, Analog, Digital, and Communication circuits.

This position is very challenging, and you will work on several projects, under a tight schedule, and in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Hardware and Mechanical engineers, production site, and product managers to ensure optimal integration of power electronics into overall system design.
• Design and develop PCB layouts for power electronics systems, including but not limited to Power Inverters, converters, EV chargers, and other power management systems.
• Apply best practices for high-power and high-frequency PCB design, including layer stack-up optimization, thermal management, and EMC/EMI mitigation strategies.
• Conduct PCB design reviews,simulations, and analysis to ensure reliability, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
• Selection of PCB materials and components, considering factors such as performance, cost, availability, and manufacturability.
• Stay updated with latest PCB design tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance design efficiency and product innovation.
• Work closely with manufacturing partners to resolve any PCB fabrication and assembly issues.
• Drive results within constraints of Product life cycle development and production at scale.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving tangible and measurable results.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ Years of relevant experience in PCB design for power electronics applications.
• Proficiency in PCB design software (e.g., Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, Altium etc.)
• Strong understanding of power electronics principles and components, familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to power electronics and PCB layout design.
• Experience with thermal and mechanical considerations in high-power PCB layout design.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during product development. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in power electronics and firmware technologies.
• Experience in the renewable energy or power electronics industry is an added advantage.
