Position Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join our growing R&D team in Bangalore. In this role, you will take part in designing and developing cutting‑edge power systems and converters for SolarEdge’s solar energy solutions. You will be an essential contributor in pushing innovation forward and ensuring the seamless integration of power technologies from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop advanced power electronics circuits and systems for products such as inverters, power optimizers, and battery storage units.
• Perform simulations, analysis, and validation of various converter topologies (DC/DC, DC/AC, AC/DC), including resonant and bi‑directional systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, and firmware teams to ensure successful product development and system integration.
• Conduct load flow analysis, transient simulations, harmonic studies, and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., EMI/EMC, safety).
• Lead the development of design documentation: schematics, BoMs, simulation reports, and testing protocols.
• Support the transition from R&D to mass production, working with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues.
• Drive and participate in design reviews and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Ensure thermal, current density, and PCB trace layout best practices, including clearance, creepage, and impedance control in high‑voltage and low‑voltage designs.

Required Qualifications:

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics or Power Systems.
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in power electronics design and system‑level analysis.
• Strong expertise in power semiconductors (Si, SiC, GaN), gate drivers, and magnetic component design.
• Proficiency with simulation tools: LTSpice, PSpice, Simulink, etc.
• In‑depth understanding of converter topologies, EMI/EMC compliance, and power distribution techniques.
• Practical experience in PCB layout design principles, high‑current routing, and thermal design.
• Familiarity with international standards (UL, IEC, IEEE) relevant to power electronics and solar systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to technical troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross‑functional, multicultural teams.
