Rakuten Symphony seeks a highly experienced Senior Network & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join its global IT infrastructure team. You will design, implement, automate, and support advanced networking solutions across multi-vendor environments with a focus on mobile technologies (4G/5G), automation, cloud integration, and security.

Collaborate with telecom clients, manage high-performance networks, and deliver end-to-end solutions while aligning with Rakuten SHUGI principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Certifications CCNP Data Center, CCIE (Data Center or Enterprise), or Cisco Certified DevNet Professional.
• Container Networking: Kubernetes networking (CSI/CNI) integration with ACI.
• Monitoring: SNMP, Telemetry, dashboards.

Responsabilités

• Design, deploy, and support advanced network infrastructures for 4G/5G backhaul/fronthaul.
• Configure routers/switches (Cisco Nexus, IOS XR, ACI, VXLAN, vPC).
• Implement routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, IPv6.
• Device hardening and vulnerability assessments for security/compliance.
• Build network automation scripts using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, YAML/JSON.
• Oversee synchronization with IEEE 1588v2 and SyncE in 4G/5G.
• Integrate OSS for Zero Touch Provisioning and fault/performance management.
• Troubleshoot with Wireshark, Spirent, IXIA, Calnex.
• Lead change management and release coordination (MOP, RCA).
• Manage customer engagements and PoCs for new products.

Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Senior Network & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our global IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and supporting advanced networking solutions across multi-vendor environments with a focus on mobile network technologies (4G/5G), automation, cloud integration, and security. This role involves collaboration with telecom clients, managing high-performance network infrastructures, and delivering end-to-end solutions.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and support advanced network infrastructures including mobile backhaul/fronthaul for 4G/5G networks.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches (Cisco Nexus, Cisco IOS XR and Cisco ACI, VXLAN,vPC).
• Implement advanced routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, IPv6.
• Perform device hardening and vulnerability assessments for compliance and security.
• Build and maintain network automation scripts using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, and YAML/JSON templates.
• Well versed with implementing IEEE 1588v2 along with SyncE for synchronization in 4G/5G networks.
• Oversee Zero Touch Provisioning and fault/performance management integration with OSS tools.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues using tools such as Wireshark, Spirent, IXIA and Calnex.
• Lead change management processes including software release coordination and documentation (MOP, RCA).
• Manage customer-facing engagements and PoCs for new product introduction.
• Work and manage operational TT’s for the relevant network elements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Certifications: CCNP Data Center, CCIE (Data Center or Enterprise), or Cisco Certified DevNet Professional.
• Container Networking: Knowledge of Kubernetes networking (CSI/CNI) and how it integrates with ACI.
• Monitoring: Experience with SNMP, Telemetry (gRPC/Model-driven), and dashboarding tools.
• 10+ years of experience in network administration, design, and support.
• Strong background in enterprise and service provider-grade environments.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• International mindset with experience working in multicultural environments
