Position Overview:
We are seeking a Technical Lead – Embedded Control Firmware to join our growing R&D team in Bangalore. In this high-impact role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of embedded control firmware for our next‑generation solar power conversion products. You’ll work at the cutting edge of energy technology and embedded control systems, collaborating with world‑class engineering teams to drive innovation and product excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of embedded firmware for solar inverters, power optimizers, and battery storage systems.
- Architect and implement digital control algorithms in C/C++ for various MCUs/processors, ensuring real‑time performance and system stability.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams (hardware, firmware, validation, and manufacturing) to define system requirements and implement robust embedded solutions.
- Conduct testing, verification, and debugging of control firmware, ensuring high reliability and performance in diverse operating conditions.
- Perform control loop simulations and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing using PLECS, MATLAB, and Typhoon HIL.
- Participate in code reviews, provide technical mentorship to team members, and drive quality standards across development cycles.
- Support certification processes, production ramp‑up, and post‑deployment debugging of control firmware.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, contributing innovative ideas to enhance firmware architecture and product efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 14+ years of experience (OR)
- M.E./M.Tech in Power Electronics/Control Systems/Embedded Systems with 12+ years of experience (OR)
- Ph.D. in Closed-loop Control Firmware Design with 10+ years of industrial experience.
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Strong expertise in embedded C/C++ development for real‑time digital control systems.
- Proven experience in control algorithm development for DC/AC inverters, DC/DC converters, and switching power supplies.
- Hands‑on experience in microcontroller‑based firmware (e.g., TI, ST, Renesas).
- Proficiency with RTOS or bare‑metal programming and interrupt‑driven system design.
- Solid knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN) and device driver development.
- Deep understanding of MCU peripherals, ADC/DAC, PWM, and power stage integration.
- Experience with JTAG/SWD debuggers, board bring‑up, and system validation.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC compliance, safety standards, and quality processes in power electronics.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in the renewable energy, solar, or power electronics industry.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development workflows.
- Exposure to certification processes for grid‑tied inverters or battery‑based systems.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers in a fast‑paced environment.
