American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Technical Lead/Architect to guide architecture and transformation of its consulting applications. You will lead design of scalable solutions, mentor teams, and drive cross-functional collaboration while enforcing best practices and governance.

The role requires leadership in enterprise environments, cloud-native patterns, and hands-on experience with modern tech stacks including AWS, serverless, containers, and AI tools.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development with leadership in enterprise environments.
• Experience architecting enterprise platforms with OO design across multiple tech stacks.
• Hands-on with REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems at scale.
• AWS cloud experience and cloud-native patterns.
• Expertise in serverless, containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and IaC.
• Experience with AI/LLM tools and data visualization concepts.
• Strong Agile/DevOps practices and stakeholder communication.

American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) is seeking a Technical Lead/Architect to join our Global Business Consulting (GBC) Innovation and Technology team. In this key role, you will provide technical leadership and oversight for the architecture design and transformation of our cutting-edge consulting applications.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the architecture and design of highly scalable, robust application solutions to support GBC's data-driven consulting offerings
• Drive technical innovation by evaluating, selecting, and integrating cutting-edge technologies into GBC's technology stack
• Provide strategic technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to development teams throughout the complete project lifecycle
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to analyze complex business requirements and architect optimal technical solutions
• Establish and enforce technical best practices, development standards, and governance frameworks for application development and data management
• Oversee technical decision-making and ensure alignment with business objectives and industry standards
• Network across enterprise technical groups to identify opportunities for efficiencies, integration and deployment of solutions.

What We’re Looking For

Leadership Experience

• 10+ years of progressive software development experience with demonstrated technical leadership in enterprise environments
• Demonstrated experience architecting enterprise grade platforms with object-oriented design and coding skills across a variety of platforms (J2EE Technologies, .NET C#, SOA/Web Services, REST API, JSON, HTML/HTML5, CSS3, XML, AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript, AngularJS, Selenium, Python, Java (optional)) for high-availability, high-performance enterprise systems

Architecture Skills

• Proven experience designing and implementing complex, distributed applications, REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems at enterprise level
• Hands-on experience architecting solutions using AWS services with understanding of cloud-native patterns

Modern Technologies

• Expertise in serverless architectures, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM tools (e.g., Claude code, Copilot, etc.). Understanding of BI/Data platforms, data modeling, ETL processes, and data visualization tools

Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices

• Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices

Communication

• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical thinking, and stakeholder communication skills

Work Hours and Location

• Must be willing and able to work in 2nd shifts (3:00 PM IST to 12:00 AM IST) and occasional weekends as required.
• Must be willing to work from Bangalore office location minimum 3 days in a week.
