Citi in India is seeking a C13 Lead Full Stack Engineer to drive the frontend architecture using React/TypeScript and backend Java Spring Boot microservices. You will champion GenAI-driven development, build scalable data-driven UI, and ensure robust, secure APIs across the VMC platform.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with global peers, and push for high-quality delivery with modern CI/CD and enterprise-grade standards.

Are you an engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of modern React UI architecture, robust Java microservices, and cutting-edge GenAI-driven rapid development?

We are building Vendor Master Central (VMC)—an enterprise-grade master registry and market reference data conduit that cleanses, deduplicates, and curates market data services, supplier contracts, billing allocations, and application mappings across the firm.

We are seeking a C13 Lead Full Stack Engineer in India to drive the frontend architecture and end-to-end full-stack delivery of the VMC application. In this role, you will champion a React & TypeScript frontend ecosystem (handling virtualized data grids, curation drawers, taxonomy queues, and bulk Excel enrichment engines) backed by scalable Java 25 / Spring Boot microservices.

Crucially, you will spearhead our GenAI-first engineering culture leveraging autonomous AI engineering tools like Devin, GitHub Copilot, and AI-assisted scaffolding agents to accelerate prototyping, test synthesis, and feature delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect the VMC Maintenance Workbench: Lead the design and implementation of modern React/TypeScript single-page applications, including high-performance virtualized data grids , dynamic column choosers, multi-dimensional filter panels, and real-time data quality indicators.
• Complex UI Workflows: Build interactive analyst curation tools, including:
  • Single-Record Curation Drawer: Clear visual separation of source vs. analyst-override values, contract relinking workflows, and enrichment rule status.
  • Taxonomy Assignment Queue: Workflow triage interfaces for L1/L2 service classification and hierarchy proposals.
  • Bulk Excel Engine Integration: Frontend/Backend parsing and validation workflows for downloadable/uploadable Excel curation templates with locked columns and dynamic schema validation.
  • Full Stack Cohesion: Design clean, contract-first REST APIs in Java (Spring Boot) to support seamless frontend pagination, sorting, audit log querying (AuditChangeHistory), and role-based permissions (Admin, Analyst, Viewer).
  • Pioneer AI-Assisted Development: Embed autonomous AI software engineering tools (such as Devin, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor) into daily sprint workflows to automate boilerplate generation, component scaffolding, migration scripts, and refactoring.
  • Velocity & Quality Amplification: Leverage GenAI to rapidly synthesize unit/integration test suites (Jest/React Testing Library, JUnit5/Testcontainers), generate OpenAPI contracts, and accelerate end-to-end delivery cycles.
  • Evaluate & Mentor: Coach junior and senior engineers on effective prompt engineering, context engineering, and AI agent orchestration for rapid, high-quality development.
  • State Management & UI Performance: Ensure client-side performance, optimistic UI updates, robust error boundaries, and seamless SSO integration.
  • Data Integrity & Audit: Implement full field-level traceability, ensuring every mutation is captured in VMC's 7-year immutable audit log with instant visual change-history inspection.
  • Standards & CI/CD: Drive modern CI/CD automation (containerized builds, automated PR validation, linting, security scans) and enforce enterprise security standards.

What We Are Looking For

• Core Technical Experience (8–12+ Years)
• Frontend Mastery (React & Modern Web):
• Expert-level React (18+), TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Deep experience with high-performance data grid libraries (AG Grid, TanStack Table, or virtualized grid architectures).
• Modern state management (Zustand, Redux Toolkit, or React Query / TanStack Query) and styling frameworks (Tailwind CSS, CSS Modules, or Design Systems).
• Client-side file handling (parsing/generating .xlsx structures, template validation).
• Backend Proficiency (Java Ecosystem):
• Strong background in Java (21 / 25), Spring Boot 4.x, and Spring Data.
• Experience designing clean, secure, and resilient RESTful APIs, microservices, and relational data access (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server).
• GenAI & Rapid Engineering Tooling:
  • Hands-on experience using Devin, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or custom LLM-based coding agents to boost personal and team velocity.
  • Strong understanding of how to supervise and verify AI-generated code for security, correctness, and performance.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Proven track record leading agile technical pods, conducting high-signal code reviews, and mentoring C11/C12 engineers.
• Ability to translate complex functional specifications into pragmatic technical architectures and intuitive user experiences.
• Strong communication skills to partner directly with Product Managers, UX Designers, and global engineering peers (Belfast, London, NY).
