Momentive is seeking a Technical Lead in Pune to drive a scrum team across full lifecycle development. You will be the technical face for major decisions, collaborating with product and engineering leadership to deliver the Moments Careers roadmap.

You will code hands-on in PHP, Lucee, and React while mentoring engineers, shaping architecture, and guiding best practices in a globally distributed team.

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 4 years on PHP-based SaaS applications.
• 2–4 years of experience leading and managing a scrum team.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Technical Lead to drive a scrum team for all necessary deliverables and serve as the technical face of the team for major decisions. This position will be based in our Pune office and work closely with product, engineering leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver on the Momentive Careers roadmap.

Position Summary

As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for driving a scrum team to deliver project commitments and orchestrating complex application development across the full lifecycle — from concept through post-production support and maintenance of server, OS, web applications, and services. You will oversee application code development, contribute to and manage version-controlled source code repositories, and lead assigned tasks to create measurable value using industry-recognized agile methodologies and best practices. You will advocate the architecture standards and guidelines set by engineering leadership, and must demonstrate quality, brevity, and timeliness in all deliverables.

A Day in the Life

In this role, you will:

• Manage a scrum team to deliver project deliverables on time and serve as the primary technical decision-maker for the team
• Successfully run Agile ceremonies and work closely with Product Owners to keep the roadmap and team capacity in balance
• Educate and mentor engineers across the team; participate in on‑call duties for production issues as required
• Develop application code according to requirements — hands‑on across PHP, Lucee, and React layers
• Contribute to lifecycle flow and value streams by prescribing and following engineering methodologies and best practices
• Solve the most difficult software development challenges across backend, frontend, and data layers
• Maintain a balance of business and technical acumen in all decision‑making
• Contribute to source‑code management and work item tracking best practices
• Drive estimation during sprint planning and PI planning exercises
• Provide technical consultation to the engineering management team
• Contribute across all SDLC phases: design reviews, writing user stories, code reviews, and automated testing
• Champion architecture standards and engineering guidelines set by technical leadership

We Are Looking for Someone Who Brings

Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 4 years on PHP‑based SaaS applications
• 2–4 years of experience leading and managing a scrum team

Must-Have Skills

• Strong knowledge of Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, and SOA design
• Deep PHP proficiency — Zend / Laminas Framework required
• Hands‑on experience with Lucee (CFML) for server‑side rendering
• 3+ years working with React, TypeScript, Redux Toolkit, and Redux Saga
• Strong command of REST API design, development, and integration
• Solid SQL skills — MS SQL and MySQL (query optimization, schema design)
• Experience with caching and queuing: Redis, RabbitMQ
• TDD experience — PHPUnit, Jest, or Selenium; able to write and enforce unit and integration test standards
• Agile / SAFe development experience; proficient with Jira for sprint and backlog management
• Strong Git and version control practices — Bitbucket or GitHub
• A self‑starter who can work independently within a globally distributed team
• Understanding of emerging AI tools in support of engineering best practices — GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.

Good-to-Have Skills

• AWS experience — deploying and managing cloud infrastructure
• Experience building and operating microservices architectures
• Elasticsearch or Solr — query tuning and index management
• GraphQL API design and consumption
• Docker, Kubernetes — container‑based deployment
• Python (Celery) for background task processing
• Enterprise‑level APM experience — New Relic preferred
• MongoDB experience
