Reports Directly to: Engineering Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to join our Chennai Datamark team. This role combines technical leadership responsibilities with significant hands-on development work. The successful candidate will lead a team of software developers and validation engineers while dedicating 60% of their time to active development tasks. This role will report to the Engineering Manager located onshore.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management (40%)

• Lead and mentor a team of software developers and validation engineers
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews
• Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospective meetings
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and code review oversight
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment
• Support team members' professional development and career growth

Hands-On Development (60%)

• Design and develop high-quality software solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical documentation
• Implement best practices for development and deployment
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends

Technical Leadership

• Define technical standards and development processes
• Make architectural decisions and guide technical direction
• Ensure code quality through reviews and automated testing
• Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Identify and mitigate technical risks
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education Requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Field Experience:
  • At least 5 years of software development experience
• Position Experience:
  • At least 2 years of team leadership or technical lead experience
• Other Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture
  • Experience with database design and optimization
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks
  • Previous experience in a similar dual-role capacity
  • Industry certifications relevant to the technology stack

Required Skills:

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in C#, React js, SQL, MySQL, Javascript, Web API are required.
• Proficiency in also Dot net core and Python are preferred.
• Experience implementing LLMs in enterprise applications is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Amazon Bedrock, or similar is a plus.
• General working knowledge of Selenium to support current business automation tools and future automation requirements.
• General working knowledge of PHP desired to support current legacy applications which are on the roadmap for future modernization.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban or similar)
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git or similar)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
