Job summary

GrayMatter in Bengaluru, India seeks an experienced SAP BW/4HANA/DataSphere specialist to lead migration and refactoring initiatives. You will shape architecture, models and data flows, and drive the end-to-end Datasphere implementation with strong SQL and data modelling skills.

The role requires 10-15+ years in IT/SAP, deep expertise in BW/4HANA architecture, ADEs, ADSOs, and integration with SAC and non-SAP sources. You will mentor teams and define migration waves.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years IT/SAP experience with BW/4HANA and Datasphere.
• Lead migration and refactoring initiatives across BW/4HANA landscapes.
• Strong understanding of BW/4HANA architecture, data models and ADSOs.
• Hands-on SAP Datasphere development: Data Builder, views, tables, data flows, replication flows.
• Ability to assess existing BW objects and decide on migration/refactor/retire.
• Refactor BW transformations and ABAP/AMDP routines into Datasphere-native solutions.
• Integrate S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA with Datasphere and SAC integration.
• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Cloud (BDC) and data modelling.
• Lead workshops, mentor developers, conduct design/code reviews.

Job description

• Experience: 10-15+ years overall IT/SAP experience, with strong experience in SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Datasphere.
• Primary responsibility: Lead BW/4HANA SAP Datasphere migration and refactoring initiatives.
• Strong understanding of BW/4HANA architecture and data models including ADSOs, Composite Providers, Transformations, DTPs, Process Chains, Data Sources, BW Queries, Info Objects and Master Data.
• Proven hands-on experience in SAP Datasphere development, including:
• Data Builder
• Graphical & SQL Views
• Tables
• Data Flows
• Replication Flows
• Remote Tables
• Analytical Models
• Data Access Controls
• Scheduling & Monitoring
• Ability to assess existing BW objects and decide whether to migrate, refactor, redesign or retire them.
• Strong experience in refactoring BW transformations, ABAP/AMDP routines and complex business logic into Datasphere-native solutions.
• Experience integrating S/4HANA, ECC, SAP BW/4HANA and non-SAP/cloud data sources with Datasphere.
• Good understanding of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration and migration of BW-based reporting models.
• Good knowledge of SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), including:
• Business Data Fabric
• Data Products
• Data governance
• Datasphere's role within BDC
• BW Bridge knowledge is desirable, particularly the ability to evaluate BW Bridge vs. native Datasphere migration.
• Experience with SAP HANA/HANA Cloud, SAP BTP, Azure/GCP is an advantage.
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills.
• Ability to define target architecture, migration strategy, migration waves and technical standards.
• Hands-on technical leadershipshould be capable of designing and developing solutions, not just managing the team.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and technical documentation skills.

Ability to lead workshops, mentor developers, conduct design/code reviews and resolve complex technical issues.
