Job summary

SNP SHIP Management Private Limited is seeking a procurement/logistics professional to support ship operations from Mumbai. The role requires hands-on procurement, vendor negotiation, and inventory management for engine, deck and bridge spares. Immediate joining is preferred for this on-site position.

Candidate should have 2–3 years of experience in ship management or related shipping operations, with strong English communication and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end technical assistance to the Technical Superintendent for ship operations.
• Process parts indents and coordinate with vendors for procurement.
• Source and negotiate quotations to ensure economical costs.
• Place purchase orders, track shipments, and handle port clearance.
• Verify vendor invoices against deliveries and manage onboard inventories.
• Assist with Class and Statutory matters and prepare routine reports.
• Handle general administrative tasks as required.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Assistance: Provide end-to-end technical assistance to the Technical Superintendent for smooth, day-to-day ship operations.
• End-to-End Procurement: Process Engine, Deck, and Bridge spare parts/stores indents received from vessels in close consultation with the Technical Superintendent.
• Cost Optimization: Source, scrutinize, and negotiate competitive quotations from vendors to ensure the most economical costs after due approvals.
• Logistics & Coordination: Place purchase orders, coordinate dispatch readiness with suppliers, monitor shipments, handle port clearance, and ensure timely delivery onboard.
• Invoice & Inventory Management: Scrutinize and verify vendor invoices against delivery receipts (signed/stamped by Chief Engineer/Master) and coordinate with the billing department for payments. Maintain updated onboard stores and spares inventories.
• Compliance & Technical Support: Assist the Technical Superintendent with Class and Statutory matters, and help prepare routine repair and drydocking reports.
• Ad-hoc Duties: Handle general administrative and technical tasks as assigned by the department head.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

• Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on working experience, strictly preferred within the Ship Management / Shipping Industry.
• Location: Must be a permanent resident of Mumbai (South Mumbai commuting distance preferred).
• Joining: Immediate joiners or candidates available within a short notice period will be given top priority.
