Where You Come In

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lab equipment, & proficient at handling lab equipment & the preparation.

Supervision Details:

Immediate Supervisor: HOD Civil & Environmental Engineering

Indirect Supervisors - Registrar, Vice- Chancellor, Vice President & President, CGU.

Job Location: CGU campus

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provides timely lab support to teachers, staff and students.
• Maintains a schedule of preventative maintenance for all equipment and keeps adequate manuals and maintenance logs for equipment and parts.
• Observes and reinforces safety and housekeeping procedures and protocol within the lab.
• Maintains systems and procedures to track borrowed equipment and tools.
• Recommends solutions to continuously improve lab operations.
• Controls the distribution of consumable materials and ensures adequate inventory levels for supplies within the lab.
• May assemble new or modified equipment such as servers, workstations, routers, switches and systems.
• Receives, installs, maintains and assists with ordering of lab equipment and supplies.
• Interacts regularly with suppliers regarding the purchases of new equipment.
• Demonstrates the use of equipment within the lab.
• Provides teaching assistance to new lab instructor during laboratory sessions.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of teaching materials.
• Supports teachers and students in the design, planning and execution of student projects as required.
• Performs teaching duties as required.
• Contributes to the development of the Lab by observing and implementing Institution and system-wide policies and procedures, and by participating in extra-curricular activities and community events.
• Develops an awareness of and respect for the customs and cultures of students and employees
• Travels to other colleges/Institution to attend meetings, workshops and conferences as required
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Who Are We Looking For

• Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering/ BTech in Civil Engineering
• Candidate with minimum 1 Years or relevant experience will be given preference.
