Job summary

L&T EduTech in Chennai seeks a seasoned Technical Architect to design and lead large-scale CBT and digital assessment platforms. The role focuses on cloud-native, secure architectures capable of handling millions of assessments with multi-tenant support for institutions, enterprises, and government bodies.

You will shape end-to-end workflows, drive AI-based proctoring and assessment analytics, and ensure reliability, compliance, and scalable integrations across LMS, ERP, and identity providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science, IT, engineering or related field; master's preferred.
• 10–15 years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in architecture roles.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the design of enterprise-scale CBT/digital assessment platforms.
• Define end-to-end workflows: registration, scheduling, delivery, evaluation and certification.
• Create secure, multi-tenant, cloud-native/hybrid architectures (AWS primary, Azure and GCP exposure).
• Build scalable microservices with containers, serverless, API gateways, and event-driven patterns.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, security, and operational excellence.
• Design AI-based online proctoring, analytics, and integration with LMS/ERP/HRMS.
• Collaborate with government and enterprise clients for compliant, scalable delivery.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Technical Architect with deep expertise in Computer-Based Testing (CBT), Digital Assessment Platforms, Cloud Architecture, Data Engineering, and AI-driven Assessment Technologies.

The ideal candidate will architect and lead the design of scalable, secure, and high-availability assessment platforms capable of supporting millions of assessments across educational institutions, enterprises, certification bodies, and government organizations.

The role requires strong technical leadership in cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, AI-based online proctoring, assessment analytics, and enterprise integrations while ensuring compliance, security, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment Platform Architecture

• Architect and build enterprise-scale Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and Digital Assessment Platforms supporting high-volume concurrent users.
• Design secure, scalable, and highly available assessment ecosystems for objective, subjective, coding, adaptive, and psychometric assessments.
• Define end-to-end architecture for examination workflows including registration, scheduling, question delivery, assessment execution, evaluation, result processing, and certification.
• Design multi-tenant architectures capable of supporting multiple institutions, enterprises, and government projects.
• Design cloud-native and hybrid architectures using AWS as the primary cloud platform with exposure to Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Build highly scalable microservices-based architectures using containerization and orchestration technologies.
• Implement serverless computing, API gateways, event-driven architecture, messaging queues, and distributed computing frameworks.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and fault-tolerant system design.
